Pet care experience

Big Backyard and lots of care.

We tend to be a wonderful fit for easygoing, social dogs who enjoy a balance of play and rest. Dogs who love to engage, cuddle, and settle in comfortably often thrive here. Our backyard is a central part of the dogs’ daily rhythm and offers a calm, thoughtfully designed outdoor space for movement, rest, and connection. The yard is fully enclosed and spacious, allowing dogs to roam, explore, and play freely without feeling overstimulated. With multiple zones throughout the space, dogs naturally spread out, choose their level of engagement, and take breaks as needed. Some enjoy gentle play and chasing, while others prefer sunning themselves, observing, or resting in the shade. Because the yard is easily accessible from inside the home, dogs move fluidly between indoor and outdoor time throughout the day. This creates a relaxed, home-based flow rather than scheduled “yard time,” supporting self-regulation, comfort, and a calmer overall experience. Compatibility matters here. Our home is best suited for dogs who are comfortable in a shared, communal environment and can regulate themselves around other dogs. Meet-and-greets are highly encouraged; they give dogs the opportunity to experience the home's space, routines, and energy ahead of time, which often leads to a smoother transition and a more relaxed stay. Clients often ask what to bring. Please provide your dog’s food and any medications. You are welcome to send a bed or crate if it helps your dog settle. Bowls and toys are provided, and we recommend leaving special or sentimental items at home, as we cannot guarantee their return.

Lydia had a blast playing with the pups at Lauren’s. And it was great knowing she was all taken care of while we were away.

My dog had the best time with Lauren! She has the sweetest dog herself, Betty White, which really enhanced the stay. I booked Lauren back to back & my dog was SO excited to come back, which is ultimately the best review ❤️🐶

Schedule

Pet care seamlessly integrates into my daily routine, as I work from home. This setup allows me to dedicate ample time for walks, play, and companionship, ensuring that each pet receives the attention and care they deserve. After getting my kids to school, my day revolves around my computer and furry friends. I cherish these moments, whether it's a refreshing walk in the morning, playful activities during breaks, or simply being a comforting presence for them. My love for pets is a driving force in my day, making each moment with them not just a responsibility, but a joy and a privilege.

Safety, trust & environment

In my home, pet care is thorough and attentive, tailored to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for every pet. Our property boasts a securely fenced yard, providing a vast, safe space for pets to explore and play. We maintain cleanliness diligently, with daily poop pickup to ensure a hygienic environment. Daily walks are a staple, offering pets the exercise and stimulation they need. Additionally, our property features two dwellings, allowing for flexible accommodation options. Whether a pet prefers the hustle and bustle of family life or a quieter, more secluded space, we can cater to their comfort. We also focus on regular interaction and playtime, ensuring pets are not just cared for, but also loved and engaged throughout their stay. This comprehensive approach to pet care in our home reflects our deep commitment to their well-being and happiness.

Pets

A typical day

In addition to walks, training, cuddles, and hiking for the adventurous dogs, I also focus on providing companionship, which is a cornerstone of my pet care philosophy. This includes interactive play sessions tailored to each dog's interests and energy levels, whether it's fetch, tug-of-war, or puzzle toys that stimulate their minds. I also love incorporating fun training games that not only reinforce good behavior but also keep them mentally engaged. For quieter moments, I offer gentle petting and relaxation time, ensuring they feel loved and secure. My aim is to create a balanced blend of physical activity, mental stimulation, and emotional comfort, making their time with me both enjoyable and enriching.

Before welcoming a pet into my care, it's crucial for me to understand their specific needs and routines to ensure their safety and comfort. I always inquire about their diet preferences and any dietary restrictions to maintain their health and well-being. Understanding any medical conditions or medications is also vital for me to provide the best care possible. I'm keen to learn about their daily routines, including feeding schedules, walk times, and sleep habits, to provide a seamless transition into my care. Additionally, knowing their usual rules and boundaries helps me maintain consistency, which is essential for their sense of security. Safety is my top priority, so I also gather information about their behavior with other animals and people, any fears or triggers they might have, and their response to new environments. This knowledge enables me to create a safe, nurturing, and enjoyable experience for them, tailored to their individual needs.
