Pet care is already a natural part of my daily routine. I currently help care for my own dogs as well as a dog in my neighborhood, so I’m very used to planning my day around walks, check-ins, and making sure dogs get the attention and exercise they need. While I do currently have another job, I’m actively building my dog walking and pet care services with the goal of making this my full-time focus. I’m committed to being reliable, communicative, and consistent, and I carefully manage my schedule to ensure every dog I care for gets the time and attention they deserve. I genuinely love incorporating dog care into my day it doesn’t feel like work to me, and I’m excited to continue growing this into something long-term. 🐾

Safety, trust & environment
I provide pet care in a safe, attentive, and structured way, always prioritizing each pet’s comfort and well-being. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow all instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walk routines, medications if needed, and any specific rules the owner has in place. For dog walks and drop-in visits, I ensure pets are always securely leashed and supervised at all times. I avoid off-leash areas unless explicitly approved by the owner, and I pay close attention to the dog’s behaviour, environment, and safety during every visit. While I do not have a fenced yard and I only have my own dogs part-time, this service is focused on walks and in-home care, where pets remain under direct supervision. I make sure every pet feels calm, cared for, and safe, and I always provide updates so owners have peace of mind while they’re away.

Information Lauren L. would like to know about your pet
Before caring for a pet, I like to understand their routine, personality, and any specific needs so I can give them the best care possible. It’s important for me to know their feeding schedule, exercise needs, and any commands or training they’re used to. I also like to ask about their temperament how they are with other dogs, people, and children as well as any anxieties, triggers, or behaviours I should be aware of (for example, leash pulling, reactivity, or separation anxiety). Health and safety are very important to me, so I always ask about any medical conditions, medications, allergies, or emergency contact information. I also love to know what they enjoy most their favourite activities, toys, or routines so I can make sure they feel comfortable, happy, and as close to their normal routine as possible while in my care.
A typical day
I love keeping dogs both physically and mentally engaged, and I always tailor activities to each dog’s personality, age, and energy level. For more active dogs, I enjoy going on long walks, fun time at the park, and outdoor adventures like trips to the river or lake (if they enjoy swimming). I also love playing fetch, tug-of-war, and other interactive games to help burn off energy. For dogs who prefer a calmer pace, I’m happy to do shorter walks, gentle play, and lots of affection and companionship. I also incorporate enrichment activities like basic training practice, treat games, or sniff walks to keep them mentally stimulated. No matter the dog, I make sure they get plenty of attention, exercise, and care and I’m always happy to send photo updates so you can see how much fun they’re having.

Pet care experience
I’ve had dogs my entire life and truly can’t imagine life without them. I currently share custody of my golden retriever Flynn, having dogs has taught me so much about patience, consistency, and how important it is to give dogs both structure and love. I also had the incredibly meaningful experience of fostering a rescue dog through Barney’s Furry Friends. She was found abandoned and needed patience, structure, and a lot of love to feel safe again. That experience taught me so much about building trust, understanding dog behavior, and supporting dogs with anxiety or past trauma. Because of this, I’m very attentive, compassionate, and tuned into each dog’s unique personality and needs. Whether your dog is energetic, shy, or somewhere in between, I aim to make them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for like they’re my own. I’ve also cared for several friends’ dogs and currently help look after a golden retriever in my neighborhood, so I’m comfortable with different personalities, energy levels, and routines. Whether it’s a relaxed drop-in visit, an energetic walk, or just spending quality time keeping your dog company, I’m happy to adapt to what your dog needs. I’m reliable, attentive, and genuinely enjoy being around dogs. I can also support basic training like reinforcing good leash manners and simple commands if that’s something you’re working on. My goal is to make sure your dog feels safe, happy, and well cared for while giving you peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands. 🐾
Reviews
Lauren has had a deep love for animals since childhood. Growing up, she was actively involved in feeding, walking, and caring for her family dog, Bo, who lived a long and happy life to the age of 18. In her adult life, Lauren has continued that same level of care and commitment with her two Golden Retrievers, both of whom are healthy, well-behaved, and clearly well loved. She treats her pets as family and understands the importance of proper nutrition, regular exercise, and consistent, thoughtful discipline. Lauren leads with patience, respect, and a calm, confident approach. She sets clear boundaries without ever being harsh—building trust and connection in a way that brings out the best in the animals she cares for. I would highly recommend Lauren for the care of any animal. Her genuine compassion, combined with a strong sense of responsibility, ensures pets are not only well looked after—but truly cared for.
