Pet care experience
I grew up with a puppy (miniature poodle named Linus) and we lived in the woods. I would always take him on long walks and hikes, and I am very comfortable being outside in any weather with a dog to make sure they get their much needed outdoor time! I have walked my friends dogs, neighbors, multiple dogs at once, and have also pet sat for co-workers when I was at school at the University of Vermont. I am very comfortable with all dogs, small to large, and have experience with the different personalities that all dogs have. I fostered a dog in college as well, a pit bull named Neko, which was an amazing experience! He was able to spend a lot of time outside walking, hiking, meeting other dogs, and just getting used to living with people before he found his forever home! I used Rover over the summer in Brighton, MA and can provide her reference!

Lauren has a great love of animals, cats and dogs alike. She can have a great calming affect on animals. They respond well to her touch and voice. She loves to play fetch with them or just run around the yard keeping them active and engaged. She is responsible and takes her job duties very seriously.
Lauren has been a close friend of mine for many years. Her caring nature, responsibility, and love for animals will make her an excellent caregiver. Her own dog Linus is a beloved member of her family, and she has lots of experience taking care of him. She is an avid hiker and loves long walks, and would be the perfect person to take your pet out for some exercise!
Lauren is an excellent caretake for pets of all kind! I've seen her foster dogs for months at a time, each pet receiving more than abundant care and love! The pets lucky to be under her care have all flourished and come out of their shell despite the stressful nature of the foster system! She is a top rate dog walker and belly scratcher, and finds creative ways to help pets get the exercise they need.

At the moment, pets are not allowed in my rental. However, I am more than comfortable going to clients housing and have done so in the past! Growing up with dogs and foster dogs I understand house rules and respecting others environment.

How they interact with other dogs, how comfortable they are in different settings (woods, busy streets, near water, rocky paths), favorite kinds of treats, favorite words and commands, toys that they like, even favorite songs! If they are comfortable in a car, how they are bathroom trained, if they like to sniff a lot or are scared of cats.
A typical day
Definitely a lot of hiking! Whether this be strenuous hikes up peaks or just around town or level walks, I will do anything and everything the dog is comfortable with. I have done many a winter and night walks with dogs as well and understand how to keep them safe. When it's warmer, I love to take dogs swimming to cool off! Since I have a car, I feel comfortable going to a variety of places and distances, and can take longer times with dogs on the weekends to explore.

Availability
I am a first year PhD Student at the Jackson Lab so my schedule is fairly set during the work week from around 8am-4pm. However, it will depend on the week for more specificity! I always make sure I get outside and hike or walk whenever I can, whether that be in the morning or nights. I have a car and can travel anywhere! I know Acadia and MDI quite well and am comfortable in all settings for dog walking.
