I'm a high school teacher who is living in Durango for the summer and looking for work to pay for play. I am here to get outside in the mountains for short stints but am living in town to enjoy this lovely place. My schedule is completely open but I will be hiking, biking, and hopefully rafting here and there. I LOVE all animals and would be delighted to help take care of your pets as needed.

Pet care experience
I love all animals, domestic and wildlife alike. I have taken care of my own animals - labs and an Aussie, two cats (one of them three-legged), and chickens for 15 years. I also worked with wildlife for 2 years and have experience with birds and a variety of other species. My husband and I have fostered and rescued a number of abandoned dogs and have worked hard to fix, train, and find new homes for them. I am more than happy to accommodate a wide variety of people and their pets' needs.

Lauren was great! Reliable, prompt, clean and kind. She house-sat for us and our pup and took her out on great hikes. Communication was clear and it was great to get updates how things were going. We highly recommend her! We felt our dog and home were in good hands while we were away - Thank you Lauren we hope to get to work with you again!

Lauren has a heart for all creatures great and small. She has cared for dogs, cats, and has experience working with raptors and other wildlife in a rescue and rehabilitation center. You can have confidence in her care of your animals, as well as confidence in her honesty.
In the 12 years I've known Lauren, I can definitely say she loves animals. She's always had at least 2 pets (often more) to be outlets for her affection. And she's had several experiences caring for more exotic animals (bears, snakes, racoons, eagles, vultures, etc.) There is literally nobody else I would rather have caring for my pooches & kitties!
