Pet care experience

Dog lover (& owner) & trail runner

I’ve cared for dogs from a young age, growing up with 2 dogs in the family and training them from puppyhood. During my teen years, I started a neighborhood dog walking service, so it seems natural to become a Rover sitter on the side as an adult! I adopted Griffin (my malamute/husky mix) from 8 weeks old, and trained him using redirection and positive reinforcement. He’s now 7 years old, great with kids and other dogs, and is my partner in crime and bestie for the restie. Over the years, I’ve consistently cared for dogs of family members and friends- from puppies to elderly dogs, chihuahuas to Great Dane mixes and everything in between. I have experience using e collars, prong collars, easy leaders, and every other harness type under the sun. I’m also happy to work with your dog to ensure any training progress you are focusing on is reinforced and not lost during my time with them. I am a runner, and enjoy taking doggos with me in a jog. In the past, I’ve taken Griffin and up to one other dog with me at a time (if your fur baby is a runner they are welcome to join us). If not, my neighborhood has ample walking trails and I’m less than half a mile from the Burke Gilman; Griffin and I love a long stroll as well and we typically walk for 3 miles each day.

Second time Lauren has watched Griz, and he truly didn’t want to leave. She continues to provide the best care. Griz can get a little nervous on walks, and she even reached out for tips on how to help him feel more comfortable, which just shows how much she genuinely cares. She took him to the dog park multiple times over the long weekend, and i really appreciate her being flexible with pickup and drop‑off as my schedule changed and I hit traffic on the way back. I’ll definitely be booking again!

Griz had such a great time with Lauren! She kept me updated with tons of photos and sweet moments of him hanging out with her and Griffin. I had a few schedule changes come up, and she was incredibly flexible with both drop‑off and pickup. I highly recommend booking with Lauren — I’ll definitely be returning. Truly a 5/5 experience!

Lauren and her dog Griffin are the sweetest! Lauren is very friendly, patient, and experienced with pets. She offers great training advice, and will be happy to reinforce anything you’re working on with your dog.

Schedule

I work from home Thursdays and Fridays, 7:30-4pm. I use my lunch break to walk with Griffin (and your pup!), and after work they usually get either a run or second long walk in as well. Saturdays and Sundays are more variable, and we may venture to the park, a trail out in the cascades, or the beach! Regardless, I ensure each dog has enough exercise and social time. Typical evenings consist of pets on the couch while I read or watch a show.

Non-smoking household
Has 1 dog

Safety, trust & environment

Griffin hangs out in my one bedroom apartment uncrated (although he is crate trained if it is necessary). The pups can keep each other company and I like to bring them with me wherever I roam (trails, new park, brewery, etc), so they are rarely alone.

Pets

A typical day

Days include lots of toys, running around in the park or on the Burke Gilman, and exploring the neighborhood. If your dog enjoys social outings, we may also head to a brewery or other dog friendly spot.
