Lauren can care for
Availability
I currently work part-time, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to dedicate to pet care. I’m available mornings, evenings, and most weekends, and I’m more than happy to care for pets on days I work—I can do visits before and after my shift. My current hours are typically Mondays from 8:30am-5pm, Wednesdays from 11:30am-8pm, and Thursdays from 10:30am-7pm. I also work either the second or third weekend of each month (Saturday 8:30–5, Sunday 12:30–5). I prefer clients located in the medical district or Hampton Cove area, especially for weekday bookings, but I’m happy to travel farther when needed!

Safety, trust & environment
When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize keeping your pets comfortable and your home respected. I do my best to maintain your pet’s normal routine—whether that means scheduled feedings, walks, playtime, or medication. I take the time to learn about your pet’s preferences, quirks, and needs so I can provide personalized care that helps them feel safe and happy while you’re away. I’m tidy, respectful of your space, and always keep you updated with photos and messages. Your pets will always be treated with the same level of care and attention I'd give my own.
Information Lauren H. would like to know about your pet
To provide the best and safest care, I like to gather as much information as possible about your pets ahead of time—especially in multi-pet households. I’d love to know their routines, personalities, and how they typically interact with people and each other. It’s helpful to know what commands they respond to, whether they’re potty trained, have any leash skills, or if they’re known escape artists (I’ll keep a close eye on doors and gates!). Please let me know if your pets have any medical conditions, allergies, or take medication, and be sure to include your preferred vet and contact info in case of emergency. I also want to know if they enjoy or dislike being picked up or handled, if they have any sensitive areas they don’t like touched, and if there are any behavioral concerns like reactivity, anxiety, or food guarding. Favorite toys, treats, and activities are also great to know—I’ll do my best to keep them comfortable, happy, and engaged while you’re away!
A typical day
Every pet is different, so I tailor each day to their personality, needs, and energy level! For dogs, that might include walks, playtime with their favorite toys, practicing basic commands, or relaxing in the sun. For high-energy pups, we’ll work on enrichment activities like puzzle toys and games to burn off that extra energy. For senior or low-energy pets, I focus on gentle companionship, slow strolls, and lots of cozy cuddle time. Cats might enjoy interactive play with feather wands, window watching, or just quiet company on the couch. I also have experience with small mammals like guinea pigs, rabbits, and gerbils, and am happy to provide enrichment, fresh bedding, and gentle handling based on their needs. I’m also comfortable caring for fish, small reptiles, and amphibians—making sure they’re safe, fed, and comfortable in their environment. Whether your pet is playful or prefers peace and quiet, my goal is always to keep them happy, engaged, and feeling loved while you're away!

Pet care experience
I bring over 10 years of hands-on experience working with animals in homes, shelters, and boarding facilities. I'm skilled in administering oral and injectable medications and handling pets with behavioral or medical challenges—including food aggression, fear-based reactivity, heartworms, and FIV/FELV+. I’ve worked with animals across all life stages, from newborns to seniors, and across all sizes—from small pets to 100+ lb dogs. I also have experience with basic obedience training, crate training, and loose leash walking. In addition to dogs and cats, I'm happy to care for small mammals like guinea pigs and rabbits, as well as fish, amphibians, and small reptiles. I’m confident, calm, and capable—even in stressful situations—and I always prioritize your pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being.

Reviews

Lauren is a favorite of our pets and us! She does a fabulous job and going the extra mile is her standard of care.

Lauren was super responsive to special needs/requests for our petsitting situation. We came home to a clean & tidy house and happy & healthy pets. I was concerned from the videos I received of my cat enjoying Lauren’s company that she might have decided to go home with Lauren!

Lauren was the best! We well get her again!

Lauren was great for my dog Luna! She even got across town in the snow to take care of her. Highly recommend.
