Experienced dog-sitter
I’m Lauren, an outdoorsey freelance medical writer and experienced dog sitter living in Somerset. I love hiking, running, exploring in the campervan with my partner Kevin, and of course dogs! I grew up with two springer spaniels so I have been a dog person as long as I can remember. A few months ago I returned from a campervan trip around Europe with my partner Kevin where we met lots of friendly dogs and cats (as can be seen in my photos!), which inspired us to start dog sitting here in Somerset. We have been dog and house sitting via TrustedHousesitters for a barbet and separately for three cockers spaniels (including a crazy 6-month old), doing repeat sits for both. As a freelancer, my schedule is part-time and flexible therefore I can be flexible on timings for walks. Kevin works in-person but will join dog walks in the evening. I grew up in Axbridge so I am familiar with walking routes around Somerset.

Safety, trust & environment
I will of course follow any guidance or preferences from the owner. I will always bring the essentials for each dog and I’m happy to send photo updates and to walk in familiar areas for the dog if preferable. I will also be insured for dog walking before accepting my first client.

Lauren is a trustworthy and diligent person who loves dogs and animals and grew up around lots of pets and dogs. I've seen how she cares for the dogs she sits for and loves taking them for walks. Lauren grew up with Two springer spaniels so is well used to energetic dogs that love long walks. Lauren also takes good care of the house keeping it clean and tidy.
Lauren is a thoughtful and caring person. I would trust her 100% with my home and pet. She sends lovely pictures of her cuddling my cat when she is cat sitting so we know she is happy. My cat also chose to sit next to Kevin, her partner, straight away which is very rare. She clearly trusts him instantly. They both love animals. I have visited her when she is house sitting for dogs and she is constantly thinking about their wellbeing and checking they are okay, more than most pet owners, because she understands it is a big responsibility caring for someone elses pet. They are also clean and tidy and polite not using anything without permission and just stay to the space allowed to them. I would thoroughly recommend her, she would always be my first choice for my Mushy.

Schedule
I am a home worker, working 4 days a week as a freelance medical writer. My working hours are flexible so I can be flexible on timings for dog walks
