I love to spend time with animals, and have 25 years of experience caring for dogs, cats, hamsters and rabbits. I'm extremely detail-oriented, and follow any instructions exactly. I know how it feels to be away from your furry son or daughter, and ensure that you will receive frequent updates and photos about how they are doing so that you feel assured and at ease. In addition to traditional pet care, I have experience supporting pets through whole-food diets, including both raw and gently cooked meals. I’ve helped transition pets away from processed food to address issues like allergies, digestive problems, cysts and nodules, low energy, and chronic inflammation. I’m also happy to teach you how to implement these changes safely and sustainably if that’s something you’re interested in. I also offer basic behavior support for both dogs and cats, including: * Leash manners * Sit, stay, and wait * Calm behavior around food preparation * Reducing excessive barking, whining, or meowing I use gentle, consistent, positive methods that reinforce good habits without stress or punishment.

I am open to many pet-related activities. I have taken pets to the dog park, groomers and veterinarian when requested. If you have a particular request, please ask and I can probably make it happen! I am comfortable caring for many different animals. I'm most familiar with dogs, cats, hamsters and rabbits, but I am open to caring for others if you can share your routine. I have cared for a pot-bellied pig on repeat occasions, so don't be shy if you have an unusual request. I am available as much or as little as you need for your animals. Please reach out, I would love to meet your pets! I can normally respond very quickly, but there can be some noticeable lags on Rover updating information and conversations. My goal is to reply to your message within 1 hour. I will not confirm a booking request without meeting you and your pet(s) first. This gives us an opportunity to go over all your pet's needs, daily routine, answer questions, and your pets can get to know me with you present. My pets will never enter your home. When I visit your pets, my own pets stay at home. They are perfectly happy there and I don't have to split my focus. My job is to focus on YOUR pet! During walks and in general, I do not allow dogs to interact with people or other dogs/pets. This is a big safety concern, as I often know nothing about other people/pets in the area. I do not take those types of liberties with your pets. We will instead turn a corner, cross the street, come back the way we came, or I politely inform them that "this is not my dog," or "we don't have time today" etc.

This is the second time that we utilized Lauren as a dog sitter. Both times she did a great job and communicated very well throughout the entire process. I would certainly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter.

Schedule
I work part-time from home with a flexible schedule, so I have very open availability. I am able to work around your schedule, and have my own reliable transportation. My goal is to keep your pet's routine as consistent as possible to reduce stress while you are away. I am patient, kind, respectful, and willing to work with your pets on whatever they may need. I have experience administering oral medications, asthma inhalers, and can accommodate any routine you may have. I currently focus on frequent drop-in visits, but if you need housesitting or overnight care, please message me the details and I may be able to accommodate with adequate notice.
