I prefer to care for your pets in your own home (house sitting and drop-ins, not boarding or day-care), as the environment is familiar and it makes everything less stressful for them. I ask for detailed instructions on any routines and schedules your dog is used to and any behaviors you want me to reinforce to make the transition as smooth as possible for your pet.

Please let me know if your dog gets along with other dogs/people or if they are reactive (for when we are out on walks), any behaviors you are trying to reinforce in your dog and ones you are trying to discourage, pee/poop habits, and any medical information I should know about your dog. I also expect you to provide the contact information of your vet in case of emergencies or be ok with me taking them to the local animal hospital if you have not explicitly specified how you want me to handle medical emergencies with your pet.

It’s helpful for me to know what kind of play your dog likes so I can incorporate it into the routine. Walks, tug of war, fetch, enrichment toys, cuddles? Let me know and I’ll make sure to find time for these activities while I’m taking care of your pets!

Lauren did a wonderful job taking care of our babies while we were away! She was very loving toward them, and sent regular updates with pictures and videos. We had given her quite a few instructions to go by, which she was more than capable of carrying out. We would recommend her for anyone who is looking for a great pet sitter!
