My work schedule is 2 days where I work a 9 hour shift and 3 days that I work a 4 hours shift. On my days off I might have to run to the grocery store of fill up my gas tank, otherwise I prefer to stay home. While I am in your home my focus is entirely on your pet's care and attention.Does your dog love to play fetch? Does your cat jump at the chance to chase a laser light? I find joy and amusement entertaining pets and contentedness in snuggling. As for my days off, which are Wednesday and Thursday, I am a home body. I only leave if necessary for food or pet care. This is my time to absorb as much affections as your pets are willing to offer :) If that means playing fetch in the yard all day or just snuggling up on the sofa and everything in between.

As a live-in service provider, i can run errands for your household, like mail runs or pet supplies. I keep the house running like it normally would; turning on/off lights for night and day times, I strive to keep pets on their schedule. I am available to bring in mail and packages, water plants, keep pools filled, test and add chemicals as needed and keep the house clean. I do pooh patrols and litter boxes daily, keep pet areas clean and tidy, refill/wash water bowls daily or more often if needed. I can send you daily updates with or without photos. I also take out trash and recycle bins and bring them back in. I do visual checks of the home, making sure toilets are not running, sinks not dripping, etc. If a problem should occur, I can contact you (or a designated representative) immediately. I strip he sheets and linens I use during my stay, and clean the bathroom I use on the day I depart/job ends. I strive to leave your home as clean or cleaner than when you left.
Information Lauren F. would like to know about your pet
I assume this question means before I actually sit with your fur baby. These are questions I ask during the Meet& Greet :Things I need to know ahead of time are: Their feeding schedule? Where their food is located? What and where are their toys? What play/exercise are they used to, how much play time do they require or are used to? Any personality quirks? Things that annoy them or things that make them happy. How many treats, if any are they given a day? How often? Are treats in response to certain activities, like potty time or going for walks? How often and when they need/expect to go out for potty? What commands do they know i.e stay, go potty, sit? What medicines, if any do they take and when? Do they have any social problems or anxieties? For example, fear of loud noise (fireworks, etc) and what to expect, and how do you wish me to respond if such an incident should occur. Do they have anything they fear or have issues with? i.e the vacuum cleaner, doorbells etc. Who/where is your veterinarian and their phone number? Do they have any special needs, i.e. washing of skin folds daily? Are pets allowed on furniture? sofa and beds? How do they communicate their need to go out for potty? How often? Where/how is poop to be disposed? When is bedtime? Are they crated? May they sleep with me? Local emergency contact if needed? A family member or neighbor. Alarm codes for entry and exit? Mail keys and house keys as needed. Do you know what time mail normally arrives? Is there a spare key hidden on property or does some one local have a spare key? (better safe than sorry). What plants need to be watered, how often and how much? Protection from freeze (winter season). Any house quirks/rules? For example electrical plugs that don't work, rooms you want kept closed, lights on/off schedule, blinds open/closed at what time? Will I need to add chemicals or watch water levels of a pool or hot tub? How often do you want check ins? Do you wish photos as well?
A typical day
My typical day would start about the same time yours does. I feel it is important to keep to the schedule/routine they are used to. If you get up to take them out at 5 a.m., I will take them out at 5 a.m. I love to play fetch in the yard, play tug-of-war with their favorite toys, and generally spoil them with attention. I love to pet dogs, it is soothing for both of us, lots of ear rubs and massages. For cats I bring a laser light toy for them to chase, and as much affection as they want. I find that each pet I care for and each home I stay in are different. I try to keep to your schedule and routine. If there is a certain route you travel on walks that your dog is used to, we will follow that route.

Pet care experience
I first fell into this line of work when a friend of mine was recalled to active duty after 9/11. I moved into his home and cared for his two cats and the home for almost 2 years while he was overseas. In 2008 a friend rescued 4 abandoned kittens and called me to help; I moved in and we hand fed and bathed those kittens every 4 hours for two months until weaned. In 2009 a woman who adopted 2 of those kittens became my first recurring client. Since then I have learned to give cat pills and learned how to do diabetic injections. I give a visual and hands on inspection for bugs, bites and plant debris, anything unusual in skin or fur. I have had dogs that require their folds washed daily, and have taken care of older dogs and cats. I have also dealt with pets with emotional sensitivities like loud noises. I can administer medicines as needed, and have been known to curl up on the floor next to a pet who is reacting to fireworks while we wait for his medicine to take effect. I also clean up vomit and urine messes, spot cleaning carpets as necessary, I found this a common occurrence with some older pets as they near their transitioning time.

Reviews

Oat seemed happy. Lauren played with him every day. The house was neat when we got home. She did good sending text messages a couple times a day with updates & photos. We appreciated that she had a list of questions and was organized to the initial visit (before we left) to be sure everyone was comfortable.
Lauren was very reliable and did a great job with all of our animals. We have one dog who can be very protective. Lauren did an awesome job of letting my dog warm up to her, by giving her some space and letting my dog trust her. We could not be more pleased with Lauren and highly recommend her for anyone looking for an honest, trust worthy person. Thank you Lauren for taking great care of our 3 dogs and two cats.

Lauren was great and we felt very secure with her. She updated us frequently and we will definitely use her again.

Lauren provided exactly the kind of loving care that my people-oriented cat needed in my absence. I received daily photos as requested and they showed a contented cat who was receiving lots of love and attention. Lauren was very understanding when a hot water issue arose unexpectedly. I would be happy to hire Lauren again and my cat is already asking when she can come back!
