A passionate penchants for pooches
Hey there! My name is Lauren and I'm a Registered Nurse/dog mom currently on a travel nurse contract. August 2020 I adopted the sweetest 6 year old Golden Retriever/Great Pyrenees mix named Brandi. She is a quirky queen who loves humans unconditionally!! Before Brandi and besides my years working with Rover, the bulk of my experience caring for dogs is through a program socializing service dogs in training. I was able to help them prepare for their future as a service dog through 4 Paws for Ability for children with disabilities and veterans. While I lived out in D.C. for grad school, I missed having dogs in my life and started Rover! For 2 years I walked all kinds of dogs inbetween classes. I had new clients and repeat clients I'd walk a few times per week. Besides walks and check-ins, I frequently dog sat at the clients houses as well. I can honestly say, working with pups while at my undergrad university in Ohio and during grad school in D.C. helped me tremendously in my dog-caring skills, time management, and in my own all around health. I've learned a lot about dog feeding, brushing, bathing, handling, safety, and medication administration. While I haven't given every dog medication under the sun, I'm willing to learn from you and use any of my nursing skills if need be. While I'm not formally trained in dog CPR, I have a lot of human first aid and wound care supplies at the ready if needed. I loved Rover so much I've continued working with this since adopting Brandi, so I know what it's like to be on the receiving end of Rover care. I'm an active person and love the outdoors, so going on frequent walks, runs, and hikes are enjoyable for me and I love taking dogs with. Brandi and I have explored tons of parks and neighborhoods, and I'd love to take new dog friends around too. I look forward to meeting you and your dog(s)! Lastly, I just want you to know that I like to be prepared for anything. While nothing bad has ever happened in my care and I'm very confident nothing will happen, if worst comes to worst and any health and safety issues occur with your pup, I want to ensure you I'm used to handling health issues quickly, calmly, and effectively! I have a car, will always know what veterinarian your dog goes to, and also live close to multiple different veterinary hospitals. Nothing would happen without you knowing everything, every step of the way. I know I naturally get nervous when I'm out of town away from Brandi, so I just want you to be confident your dog will be as safe and healthy as can be and that I'll always treat your dog as I treat my dog!! Communication is the name of the game!

I feel strongly about closely following any instructions you have at your home and treat it like mine, safe and cared for. My priority is your dog and his/her security, health, and comfort. I will do anything I can to keep your dogs daily routine that he/she is used to, and won't take them out of their comfort zone. I'm a clean & tidy kind of human and will ensure your living space is untouched and just as you left it. Although if you do have some household things you'd like me to take care of while you gone (bringing in/out the trash, washing dishes, making sure lights are on/off certain times...) I'm more than happy to do that, it isn't a bother at all!
Ratings and reviews
Lauren is a very kind, reliable sitter. She left my home impeccable and my dogs and cat happy and peaceful. So nice to have her provide a safe and reliable at-home option for my treasured fur family. Lauren is thoughtful and goes above and beyond to take care of whatever comes up or needs to be done. I had a late travel arrival and coming home to a clean home and happy pets was a gift. I’m very grateful for Rover and Lauren!

Lauren was very prompt and communicative. Thank you!

I met Lauren last minute as I needed a dog sitter for Thanksgiving. She came over beforehand to meet my dog and get an understanding of what he was like, was patient with his puppy energy and mouthiness, and did a great job taking care of him. He is pretty high energy and a puller, but Lauren made sure he got plenty of exercise each day and I got pictures of how he was doing! He seemed very very happy when we got home and honestly more calm than usual. She also left our house in perfect condition! Would highly recommend!

Lauren was absolutely wonderful and helped me so much with my dogs!

Lauren was great! We needed a sitter very last minute and she was so accommodating. She sent us pictures and enjoyed even taking Ace for a walk! We will definitely be using Lauren again if she’s available and we are in Duluth!!
Lauren is fantastic and my dog Roxie loves her. Highly recommended.

I'm currently taking some time off from working as a nurse, so I'm free most days! I will be back in the workforce in November so I'll be working just three days a week.
