- Bailey is a 3 year, 4 mo. old Great Pyrenees in Parkville, MD
Bailey is the typical Great Pyrenees who is content to watch his "flock" of visiting dogs at all times. He will sometimes bark if he sees or hears something he perceives as a threat. He's independent but sweet and friendly and will jump up and hug and sniff your head. Avoid touching his hind quarters under his tail or he may growl if you do. Sometimes he howls for attention or out of boredom. Scared of thunder and fireworks but better than he used to be. Just needs reassurance and hugs! He usually lays around sleeping but likes to play with other dogs out in the yard a few times a day. He loves walks and hikes at local parks. For extended hikes (2+ miles) or walks bring him a water bottle because he gets overheated and slobbers a lot. He gets along great with people, dogs and cats. He will run out a door or a gate left open and will not stop.

Use phrase GO EMPTY? at the door to get him to go out. Let him out frequently to cut down on marking inside the house. He may have been originally trained on pads but he's mostly over that habit. You may want to pick up any small rugs to be safe.
- Gets along with children: Yes
He loves to hug so small children should be careful.
- Gets along with other dogs: Yes
He is very well socialized with other dogs but is still a little food aggressive so feed him in a room by himself.
- Gets along with cats: Yes
He grew up with our two cats and he has been around other cats.
I feed Bailey grain-free but he won't become ill if he should eat another dog's food.
