I am usually living in an environment that is not pet friendly, so I will need to care for pets at your home. I am very happy to work around set schedules and pay keen attention to the needs of your pet.
Information Lauren B. would like to know about your pet
I’d like to know if your pet has any fears and/or how they get along with other animals or people. If there’s anything your pet likes/dislikes a lot, and where they normally sleep. If they have a special harness that you’d need to show me how to use, where the poop bags and treats are, all the normal stuff :)
A typical day
I’ll follow your guidelines when it comes to what schedule you’d like your pet to maintain. I’m accustomed to taking them on multiple walks per day or none at all (if you prefer), playing a lot of catch and tug of war. And cuddles, of course!

Pet care experience
Hi! My name is Lauren. I am a fully remote worker who is based in the greater Boston area. I do not have any pets of my own. I can pet sit anywhere, as long as you have WiFi. I tend to be within New England most of the time, (but try to escape most of the dead of winter to somewhere warmer). I am not picky about the location! I am happy to stay overnight in your home for long or short periods of time, and that’s definitely what my situation is best for. I am typically renting an apartment that is not pet-friendly. I am reliable, responsible, and will do my best to leave your home in the same state as when I arrive. My goodness I love animals. I grew up with some unconventional pets, such as a ferret, a parakeet and a fish. But for the past couple years, I have offered pet care services through Rover after beginning to do so for friends and family on the regular, and I love it! I have administered medication to pets and have cared for elderly animals. I sit for cats, dogs of all sizes (both small and large pups) and I have completed sits where I have walked 2 large dogs at a time. Since I work remotely, I will be in your home most of the time, and by default I will stay at your home overnight. However, please note that my listed rates assume flexibility to leave the home a minimum of 4 consecutive hours in a day, if needed/desired. (The maximum I’d be away will depend on you and your pet’s needs, which may be 4 hours). If you prefer 2- 4 max consecutive hours out of the house I charge an extra $30 per night, and constant care (less than 2 hours max out of the house in a day) I charge an extra $60 per night. I do have a car. If parking is not available, typically I’ll charge additionally the cost of either a round-trip Uber ride from somewhere I can keep my car for the duration of the sit (within the greater Boston area), or somewhere somewhat nearby that has parking that I can walk to (typically within a mile.). Whichever is cheaper. I’m happy to take any suggestions/ideas you may have! Please disclose cameras up front. Generally I don’t mind them, but if they’re placed in an area where I will be relaxing or working all day, I prefer to discuss in advance of accepting the sit in case it’s not something I feel comfortable with. I’m typically more than happy to do long/extended stay sits, and happy to negotiate prices for sits longer than a week. Please note that during the winter holidays (mainly Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years in particular) I will be visiting my family so I will need to have flexibility to leave for 6 hours (or more if you feel comfortable with that).

Reviews

Lauren was an amazing dog sitter and took very good care of our Martha. She was great at communicating and sending picture updates, and kept our home clean and just as we left it. She even did the laundry of the bedding and towels she used which was very appreciated. We would definitely hire her again!

Lauren is fabulous! Professional, responsible, kind, and an excellent communicator. Our pooch was a happy and relaxed boy - a complete 180 from his boarding experiences. Our minds were at ease the whole week we were away. We will definitely ask her back for our trips in the future.

This was the second time Lauren stayed with our Boxer boy. He is almost 8, and he is very attached to us, so it is hard for me to leave him—and this week-long stretch was the longest I had ever left him! Lauren took such good care of him—she sent lots of photos and updates and I could tell he felt very comfortable with her. He was happy and relaxed when we got home. She also took great care of our house (watered plants, etc.). We will definitely be reaching out to Lauren for future travel dates!

Lauren is wonderful! She took care of our 7yo Boxer while we were out of town, and he was such a happy boy when we came back! She was very communicative and sent photos and updates throughout her stay. She will be watching our boy again next month. Thank you Lauren! 😀
