I have acquired 5 years of experience working professionally with dogs. I began my journey working for a company in Britiah Columbia, where I was a Pack Leader, hiking dogs in packs off leash in the mountains. Then, I ran my own business, doing the same. I built trusted relationships with my clients, where they felt that I took great care and safety for their pups. I have now moved back to Ontario, where I do Independent Contract work as a professional dog walker. I have house sat dogs in their homes- varying from houses to apartments. My longest stay yet has been two weeks. I have looked after two dogs at once. My most unique stay was sitting a Golden doodle and a bunny. With my professional experience- I have worked with puppies, seniors, reactive, anxious, happy go lucky, rescues, and various different breeds. I have learned basic training skills and how to read dog body language. I have an understanding of dog behaviour. What I love most, is building a trusted relationship with your pup and meeting their emotional needs. I enjoy positive reinforcement. Lastly, making sure your beloved pup is safe and comfortable throughout my stay is top priority.

Safety, trust & environment
I will do my best to stick to your dog's routine, as that will provide calmness and structure throughout my stay. I like to be given basic instructions on times they usually go out for a walk, eat breakfast/dinner, etc. I focus on emotional wellbeing, not pushing your dog if they have certain triggers or fears in your home and/or out on a walk. I want them to feel safe with me while their parents are away. When I am working during the week, and need to leave your pup at home for a few hours, I make sure to take them on a nice morning walk and feed them. When I am not working on weekends, I like to stay with your dog throughout the day and night. I give lots of love, attention, and play. I make sure they are fed, their water bowls are filled, and their bed is nicely kept. I like to be clean and tidy in your home, not leaving items or food out that your pup may get to. I take care of your home as if it were my own.

Lauren was very good and sensitive to Esper’s needs. She let her play in the snow and took lots of pictures. Will definitely book again.
Lauren was wonderful with my dog! She was attentive to detail, gentle, and truly compassionate. She went above and beyond to make sure my dog felt comfortable and safe throughout their time together. I felt completely at ease knowing my dog was in her care. Would highly recommend Lauren to anyone looking for a kind and caring person to spend time with their pets!

Schedule
I am available full-time Saturday and Sunday. I am also available throughout the week- working fluctuating hours. During the week, I will need to leave your pet home alone for ~4-6 hours. Check ins may be possible if you are located within Hamilton, ON.

- Please let me know if your dogs have any specific triggers out on walks or in the home. For example: fear of dogs, people, reactivity towards cars or bikes, don't like to go in certain rooms of the home, etc. As well, if they require special feeding times, oral medications, etc. I encourage to be provided with basic instructions for your pup before they are left with me.
