As the golden rule states, do unto others as you'd have them do unto you. I want all the information I can possibly get about a stranger who I'm about to allow into my home to care for my pet. So here's some quick details about me: - My skills include: mild walk training, behavior reinforcement, e-collar use, puppy-proofing, senior care, and knowledgeable of common sicknesses in dogs. - Throughout all my years as a dog owner, a common problem I've had is not being able to take off work to get to vet appointments during normal business hours. I am happy to transport your pets to get the care they need, including surgery pickup and after-care. - You do not have to worry about having a spotless home or a poop-free yard before you hire me. I'm here to make sure your dog gets their needs met. I'm NOT here to judge. - I only activate Rover when I need a break from my construction career. I wish I could do Rover full time. Best job in the world! - I've raised 3 dogs from puppy teeth to white muzzles. Sadly two have died in recent years from cancer and I only have one now, but my 15 y.o Rosco boy is my whole world! I take him everywhere with me. - While I do prefer to work with dogs, I have raised approx. 5 litters of kittens, including bottle-feeding, rescues, foster, etc. In rural areas they just appear out of nowhere. - I'm actually a second-generation dogsitter. My grandmother made a 20 year career out of it and I grew up watching pups with her. - I joke that I was raised by a pack of wild dogs. I'm a North Carolina native who grew up in the rural inner-banks area and I was a barefoot wildchild, constantly outside, guarded by 5+ dogs everywhere I went.

Because I have a manual labor job and I grew up as a farm kid, I'm stronger than I look. I promise I can handle whatever size dog you have. Whether I have to help lift into cars, help them up the steps, or wrastle them to get a pill in their mouth, I can probably keep up... and I need some exercise lol In your home, I operate under the "leave no trace" doctrine. I'll always clean up after myself and your pets while I'm there. When we go on walks, I prefer to use a hands-free waist-walker (if you don't have one, I literally just have a fanny pack with poopy bags and carabiners to attach leashes to). This makes the process so much easier and safer! If I'm staying overnight in your home, please don't be offended or think I'm weird but I will not sleep in your bed or guest bed. I'm much more comfortable bringing my own yoga mat and blankets. Dogs love this and usually will sleep on the floor with me!

Lauren was absolutely wonderful with our animals while we were away. She sent plenty of in depth updates and made us feel at ease while we were away. She went above and beyond to meet their needs and make sure they were loved and tired after playing and getting attention. We definitely will be booking her for any future needs 😊

Lauren is wonderful! Very attentive and intuitive. She gives individual care and pays attention to my dog’s needs. She gave daily updates with a photo and detailed description of activities and her observations.
Lauren was prompt and very patient with my two! My Velcro pup was a little worried leaving the house without me the first time. She put in a good walk with them!
No words can describe how amazing Lauren is. We are SO thankful that we have found her! We were gone for 11 days, traveling, and not a single day went by where Lauren didn’t send a very comprehensive update about our dog. They went on car rides, to the dog park, she got to play with other dogs and it seemed like a vacation for her as well. Lauren provided our dog with enticements when she refused to eat, and our pup just looked extremely happy and healthy when we picked her up. Thank you so much, Lauren!!!

Schedule
I don't have a full-time job for a few more months as I wait on my next job site to break ground, so my schedule is wide open. Currently, I'm staying with my sister while my camper is in for repair. My service radius may shift and schedule will change soon, so I don't want to take on too many recurring clients because I don't want to let y'all down!

- Don't be afraid to tell me that your pet has a quirky lil routine like we've all seen on the internet. "You have to pretend to shake seasonings on his food," "Please hand feed the first few bites until she realizes she's hungry, then she'll eat," or "EXTREMELY FOOD AGGRESSIVE. PUT THE BOWL DOWN AND RUN" are all acceptable requests in this line of work.
