Hi, I’m Laurel, and I’m so glad you’re taking a look at my profile! I have been working with animals in different capacities for over eight years. I have worked in kennels where we care for pets while the owners are away. I have also volunteered with animal shelters for years. I have been walking dogs for the past two years and love the flexibility it provides for myself, the pets, and owners. Finally, I have fostered multiple puppies while living in New York City, I learned to introduce the puppies to new sights and sounds as well as other animals. I have cared for dogs and cats with diabetes, older pets, pets with food allergies, and dogs with behavioral concerns. I value pets as a part of the family and will make sure your pet is treated as such! I currently have two kittens who I adopted in October of 2021. Unfortunately I cannot board animals in my current apartment. I currently work full time from 9-5 as a social worker so my availability is limited to earlier in the morning or in the evenings. Animals have always been a huge part of my life and pets have the ability to bring us so much joy. I am always happy to be the one who can treat your pet like family and keep them safe and happy while they await your return!

Laurel made keeping my pet somewhere through the holidays a breeze! They even gave my cat a cute Christmas stocking! Would definitely recommend her again!
Laurel was great. I needed a sitter at the last minute and Laurel was available. She was responsive, punctual, very playful with Ginger and Scoober, and sent updates with pictures and a video. I will definitely book her again.

Schedule
I work full time, but I do have flexibility in the evenings to care for animals whether that be dog walking or pet sitting. This has worked very well for pet sitting specifically for cats!

A typical day
When I’m watching dogs I love to go for walks and have active play time. I’m also very happy to just hang out when a dog is more laid back. With cats I also enjoy play time and their silly antics. I am happy to use wand toys, food puzzle or other stimulating activities
