Ever since I was little, I've grown up learning how to properly love, respect, care for, and enjoy living alongside family pets. Starting when I was a child, we always had at least one cat in our home, and later on, added a medium-sized rescue dog named Ruby. In her last few years, Ruby suffered from a degenerative spinal issue, and I watched my mother patiently and compassionately take care of her until she ultimately had to be ethically put down. While I haven't lived at home with my own animals for a long time, I've often been sought out by friends and coworkers to cat- and dog-sit during trips and holiday seasons because they know I will care for their little ones with the same love and attention that I would my own.
