Safety, trust & environment

I am great at reading your dog's energy and responding accordingly. Sometimes it is super important to tear around the yard, and sometimes a curb simply must be thoroughly sniffed for several minutes.

Information Laura T. would like to know about your pet

The public sphere really requires dogs to be perfect, despite constant stimulation and stressors. I am compassionate with dogs that might need some extra understanding and support.

A typical day

I always try to avoid the concrete and make a beeline for more natural areas where there's grass, shade, and lots of good stuff to explore (in a mannerly way, of course).

Pet care experience

Hi, I'm Laura! When I was a kid I completed a gauntlet of tasks laid out by my parents to demonstrate that I was responsible enough to care for a pet, and I wish I could do the same for you! I frequently dogsit for friends, and it continues to be a joyful task and a responsibility I'm always honored to bear. I have lived with and loved dogs my whole life, from Logan, the chow mix who was my constant childhood companion, to Nora, the heeler mix who is my shadow. I am also the proud custodian of a barn cat and two horses. I express gentle confidence, reassurance, and guidance through my voice and body language, observe and empathize with what a dog communicates to me, can keep up a calming one-sided banter, and understand that the companionship goes both ways! I hate the feeling of leaving my own animal friends behind so I will do everything possible to relieve that for you.

Laura was communicative, and my dog was happy. She house sit too, the place was just as I'd left it. Will rebook again, thank you!

Laura is an excellent dog sitter. She has years of experience living with and taking care of dogs and other animals. She regularly watches my dog and he always comes back from her care happy and healthy. She is very responsible and easy to communicate with. I highly recommend Laura as a dog sitter and dog walker.

Laura is my dog Fiver's favorite roommate/aunt. She basically takes him with her anywhere she can and walks him around the neighborhood whenever she needs to stretch her legs. He definitely listens to her more than he listens to us, and she taught him to "wait" when we could barely get him to sit for more than a full second. She also facilitated a lengthy and painstaking introduction/intervention of inter-species friendship between Fiver and her cat Miu, who are now best friends and wrestle/cuddle buddies.
