Pet care experience

Pet Lover Ready to Help!

I am passionate about taking care of pets! I’ve grown up with dogs of many different breeds and personalities, I raised two guinea pigs during my childhood, and I interact with cats here and there. I have experience taking care of neighbors’ dogs; both walking and visits for feeding/letting out. I can also help with guinea pigs and other small rodent feedings, and I am okay with feeding cats. I am reliable, trustworthy, good with communication, and will love your pet like it’s my own!

Safety, trust & environment

I greet every pet with respect and caution, especially when meeting for the first time. It’s important for them to get to know and trust me since we’ll be spending time together! I follow feeding/let out instructions exactly. I stay alert during walks, watching out for vehicles and other dogs nearby. I pay attention to body language and signals from the pet, especially during the hot summer months, to make sure they are hydrated and staying cool. I will check in with you before and after to give updates on how the visit went!

Laura is a steward of dogs and other animals, with a history of numerous family and community members (including myself) choosing her to care for their pets. She has excellent environmental awareness and time management and truly enjoys spending time with pets. As a former dog walker/sitter, I confidently recommend her.

Animals have always been a part of our family, and Laura has been an active participant in caring for them from the time she was able to walk. She has experience with puppies and senior dogs as well as dogs in their prime of life, and with multiple breeds, including highly active ones like Brittany spaniels and Australian cattle dogs. She was a preferred sitter for dogs and cats in our neighborhood for many years before leaving for college. We also adopted guinea pigs when she was eight years old, and she had primary responsibility for their care. She took her responsibility seriously, became very familiar with the special requirements of caring for small mammals, and provided loving, consistent care in a busy household that included other pets.

I would highly recommend Laura as a pet sitter. My dog, who usually hates everyone, was especially drawn to her, which speaks to her abilities.

Schedule

I am taking classes over the summer from 2-4PM on the weekdays, but am free any other time to help out with your babies!!! I don’t mind early morning/late night feedings/let outs, but I will only walk them during daylight. I love love love getting outside and walking, so long walks are no problem (with water of course)!

0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
41 to 100 lbs
Laura can host up to 3 drop-ins per day
Please let me know your preferences in length of walk, area of the neighborhood to take them, etc. For drop-in visits, I’d also like explicit instructions about feeding and any other necessary care while I’m there! Please tell me how they are around other dogs/meeting new people, so I can be well prepared!
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
