Pet care experience

Me (Laura): - A responsible, reliable, and trustworthy person - Bilingual, may accidentally teach your pup some español - Lives in a spacious home with a fenced backyard - Experienced pet owner offering occasional pet sitting services (great vacation or backup option) - Owner of a small spunky dog and a lazy fluffy cat - Fulfilling the desire to adopt a second dog by pet sitting instead - Takes one rover guest at a time, will that be you? You (Dog): - Spayed/neutered - Over 1 year old (sorry, no puppies) - Small, under 10 lbs. - Vaccinated (Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella at a minimum) and can provide documentation - In generally good health; no serious or life threatening conditions (Laura would like to avoid getting traumatized with medical emergencies) - Doesn’t have any contagious illness, disease, parasites, or other conditions - No fleas and on a prevention routine - Trained to go bathroom outdoors, no accidents or marking indoors - Crate trained for night time sleeping and sparingly during the day - Dog and cat friendly or at least willing to coexist - Well mannered; no unprovoked aggression, not super anxious, hyperactive, or disruptive - Non-destructive; will respect home/furniture/shoes and only destroy the dog toys - Not a flight-risk; won’t try to dig holes or dash out the door to escape and laugh at Laura while she miserably fails to catch up to you ***Please note- due to the increase in liability; I decline all booking requests for dogs who require administration of medications, who are feeling ill, who are in recovery, or are experiencing unusual behavior. Owner will be contacted to arrange for immediate pickup if dog is dropped off under any of these conditions. If owner cannot be reached, Rover will be contacted next. No refunds will be processed.

Very reliable and great communication! I've used this sitter for multiple occasions and use her on a weekly basis. Can tell she really loves animals by her compassion, empathy, and receptiveness to my/my dogs needs!

Safety, trust & environment

I won’t be the best choice for everyone and that’s okay. Both parties in a pet sitting agreement are entitled to secure the best possible match. Just as you are in search of the “perfect” individual to trust your dog with, I am in search of the “perfect” rover guest. I have a screening process I follow and requirements in place to help ensure the health and safety of your dog but also to protect my sanity, family, pets, and anyone else that visits my home. The requirements I ask of my rover guests are the same standards I hold my pets to. I do not run a kennel; I host one rover guest at a time in order to provide focused care in a safe and welcoming home environment.

Information Laura R. would like to know about your pet

Any and all information that will help keep your dog safe, healthy, and comfortable during their stay. Do they have a schedule or routine? What commands do they know? What are their triggers? What makes them happy? Additionally, I’d like to provide my packing list for pet parents: - collar with ID tags (required) - harness (optional but required for walks) - leash (optional but required for walks) - dog food (required for long stays) - feeding bowls (required) - bed or blanket (required) - poop bags (required) - toys (optional) - crate (optional, I have one extra) - item with your scent on it (optional but highly encouraged) - anything else they may need

A typical day

I work from home full time so if your dog’s care overlaps with my work schedule, rest assured they won’t be alone or stuck in a crate all day. Instead, I will enjoy their company as an office dog! I do use a crate at night for sleeping or if I have to leave the house, this is for their safety. You are welcome to provide instructions for more crate time or other routines but please don’t ask me to train your dog in any capacity. I am not a trainer and my current schedule and lifestyle does not permit me to dedicate such efforts. In my home there are no small children, only adults and one teenager. My rover guests spend their time with me, I take full responsibility for their care, but they may occasionally have a chance to mingle and socialize with my family (and pets). I also have a fenced backyard for dogs to enjoy during warm weather (under my supervision only). Overall, my home is a relatively calm environment and we are pet friendly people.
