About Laura R.
Communication
Skills
Safety, trust & environment
I make sure to always respect a pet's boundaries and allow them to trust me at their own pace. I only use positive reinforcement strategies. During walks I prioritize allowing the dog to sniff as much as they would like, and I stay aware of our surroundings to protect the dog's safety. I like to provide lots of pictures and updates with details about your pet's demeanor and behavior, so you can feel secure that your pet is being cared for and enjoy some adorable pictures of them!
Information Laura R. would like to know about your pet
I like to know your pet's general personality ahead of time, but I am happy to work with social butterflies or shy pets who need a little space. Let me know if there are any treats that are preferred or off limits, or if you'd prefer that I not give them treats at all, because I often use treats as a way to provide positive reinforcement.
A typical day
During walks I make sure that the dog has as much opportunity as they want to sniff (from the safety of the sidewalk, of course!). If you have a fenced in yard for them to play in, I encourage them to explore the yard and even run if they are able. When the weather is bad, I'm also happy to stay inside and play some training games with them to provide mental exercise as well.

Pets
Laura R. has Star Sitter status

I'm out to pet every dog in East!
Pet care experience
I have 2 dogs at home and volunteer at MACC walking and playing with dogs at the shelter. I especially love getting outside and walking with a dog so I'm excited to help your dog get their steps in. I have also fostered a couple of dogs, and I have experience with dogs in quarantine and recovering from surgery.
