Working from home gives me the ability to spoil the pups with regular trips outside. They have plenty of time to do their business and smell the roses too.

Safety, trust & environment
I do often have more than one dog here at a time, but I am diligent about who I put together. Each dog has his or her own personality. Some personalities will clash. I make every effort to make each stay as calm and comforting as possible. I want them to feel safe and loved while they're here, not stressed out or anxious. We have a fenced yard that we maintain and check regularly. The gates are locked. We installed 3 security cameras in the backyard for additional safety. There is also a newly installed gate inside the house to be sure that noone can run out to the garage. We never open the front door if the dogs are not secured first.

Information Laura R. would like to know about your pet
It's important for me to know about any medical conditions and allergies. I need to know if the dog can tolerate two boys screaming while they wrestle each other to the ground. I need to know if the dog is housebroken or if there is a tendency to chew on things. With kids in the house, it is almost impossible to dog-proof.
A typical day
With a toy box full of toys to choose from, there is never a dull moment! Squeaky toys, tennis balls, tug-o-war ropes and so much more to keep them busy. There is also plenty of time for quiet snuggles on the couch.

Pet care experience
Hi! I'm Laura. I have been married for 20 years and I have 2 active boys. I have more than 15 years of experience working in veterinary hospitals as a technician/nurse. Currently I work part-time as a substitute teacher at my boys' school. It has given me a flexibility in my schedule that has been invaluable. I can make my own schedule which allows me to always be available for my clients. We adopted a young dog from a local rescue in March of 2022. Although she is a very sweet girl, she is very much an alpha so a meet and greet with her is very important. We live on the outskirts of Nanticoke and I own my home, including almost an acre of land and the back yard is fenced in. There is plenty of space for dogs to run and play. The fence is four feet high so any dog with a tendency to jump over would be a concern. I would feel better taking them for walks instead. I have now been dog sitting in my home for over 11 years. During that time, I have learned a lot and I continue to try to make adjustments to make all of my boarders as comfortable as possible. I try to keep their routines as normal as I can. For example, if they are crate trained, I ask that their crates come with them so they can have a safe place to retreat. If they sleep in bed with their owners, then they are welcome to sleep in bed here too. As a CVT with experience, I can give you some peace of mind that you are entrusting your beloved dog with an avid animal lover.

My Ellie loves it there! Laura is great and extremely accommodating

I am so pleased with the care Laura gave Scout. Scout loves going to Laura’s. I know I can go away and Scout is well taken care of. I already booked 2 more stays with Laura for Scout.

Laura you and your family are the best. Thank you for taking such great care of Gordie!

Thank you so much for taking great care of Ellie! We really appreciated the updates and knowing she was comfortable while we were away.
