Dog Holiday Help?

I live in the Stirchley/Kings Heath area and can provide dog boarding (as an alternative to kennel boarding) in my private home (for smaller dogs) when the owners aren't able to care for them ( i.e. holidays). I have hosted over 30 dogs (for 1 week to 3 weeks so far as at 14th June 2026). There are some photos of some of these dogs on my profile and some reviews. I expect all dogs to arrive with the agreed kit (food, lead, crate/cage/bed and any sleep, exercise and meal routines..). Complete your dogs profile before you make an enquiry and communicate via this RoverDogCare. I look forward to hearing from you. My availability is very limited though as it's just occasional dog care that I provide.

Bear really enjoyed his time with Laura Paula and she obviously took very good care of him. I would recommend her to others definitely.

Laura was once again brilliant looking after our mini daxie Luna. She provided plenty of updates and Luna was very well looked after!

Schedule

I accept bookings when I have availability and this has worked well in the past via the Gudog calendar and Gudog message service (now Rover). I tend to accept one dog booking each week unless the owners have agreed that their dogs can be with another dog in my home (because for instance, the dog owners are friends and have agreed this in advance of contacting me) Do you have a typical schedule with your dog?

Safety, trust & environment

If you know your dog is anxious or easily gets irritated when in the presence of other dogs (or people and other animals), this is very useful information. I accept one booking per dog (owner) and this can help alleviate any anxiety (i.e. 1-2-1 care). If dog owners don't have a cage for their dog to sleep in, this can be discussed before the booking (in the initial enquiry) as I might not be able to accept a booking depending on the time of year. I plan the day (exercise/walks and eating times) after receiving this information from the dog owners. Dog owners are requested to arrive with the dog's lead, harness, food, bed/cage sleeping equipment, towels (for cleaning), play toys, food and any medications (as though the dogs are staying in their usual home so as to attempt to maintain some normality for the dogs and keep them calm). How did you keep your dog calm in your home?

A typical day

there are many different types of walks close to the house (soft grass as well as muddy and concrete surfaces). I tend to plan circular walks to avoid needing to drive or get the bus home. Some dogs have attended visits with me to residential homes (when visiting elderly people, for instance) and this has always been successful for all. On very warm or stormy/windy/cold days I tend to review the walking conditions (and each dog's energy) and spending time in the garden with the dogs' play toys (ball, stick etc.) or the lounge. This often keeps the dogs happy and active. What fun activities do you normally do with your dog? Add them to the dog's profile.

Does your dog cause damage in your home? Any sleeping, exercise, food or medication related to each dog can be communicated on the dogs profile and during the initial message enquiry. If you know your dog is anxious or easily gets irritated when in the presence of other dogs (or people and other animals), this is very useful information.
