As an owner of a puppy, pet care is a massive part of my every day. Dogs love predictability & structure and this is very important for their nervous systems. I’m happy to help integrate with your dogs routine where possible!

My expertise when it comes to pet care is definitely dog walking. As an owner of a rescue pup every dog walk is a training session. It’s never just a quick walk around the neighbourhood for me. Every walk is an opportunity for dogs to learn about the world around them, and how to behave on lead. This type of practise consists of loose leash walking, heel walking, and trigger disengagement practice- which is especially important if you have a reactive dog, or a dog with a high prey drive. This helps to engage the dogs brain, mentally stimulating them whilst on walks, whilst simultaneously practicing obedience and neutrality. I like to use a long line style lead (not a big fan of retractables) paired with either a collar or harness. If your dog has special equipment or requirements like a harness or muzzle for example, I am happy to continue with whichever method you are using. Consistency is key!

Every dog is individual and it’s important to understand the needs of each with a tailored approach to walking, playing and training. I like to assess each dog on a case by case basis to ensure I’m meeting their needs appropriately. For example, my own Lurcher puppy is extremely high energy, and requires a lot of structured play and long sniff walks- or else he becomes pretty crazy.

Owner of a rescue Lurcher puppy! I understand the importance of meeting a high energy dog’s needs- especially boisterous puppies like my Ozzy. I am well experienced in dog sitting, drop ins, and walking, having done this type of work since a young age, but more consistently in the last four years. I have also done dog/house sitting for THS in various locations from London to South Carolina USA. I am currently 5 months into an intensive training regime with my own rescue puppy and feel from this I have developed a unique set of skills that I would love to use to help other dog owners who perhaps are in a similar situation as me. Because of this, I am open to caring for various dogs- if we are the right match! Does your dog require special handling? I’m experienced with behaviours like reactivity and resource guarding, so don’t worry about this being an “issue”. I am very big on dog training, so more than happy to incorporate what I know into my appointments, and/or continue with any training owners currently have, especially with loose leash walking, impulse control, and recall. I attend 1-2-1 training classes with my own puppy on a monthly basis, and feel like advice and training tips I learn at my lessons can be highly transferable.

Laura is excellent with my French Bulldog. She is timid and often needs extra love and attention before warming to a new person. Laura was great with her and I think has made a human friend for life - she loves her!!! I will say she followed all my instructions to a T. One of the only people I trust alone with my dog. Thanks for everything.
Laura has looked after our 2 boys on several occasions and has always treated them as her own. Even when one of our dogs was young and behaving difficultly and after he had a hip replacement she has always provided loving and sensitive care and is always patient. I would highly recommend Laura and never hesitate to ask her to care for the boys again in the future.
Laura is a diligent and responsible person, particularly when it comes to pet care. She wants to know the ins and outs of what it takes to look after a person’s pet to make sure they are cared for and loved the way they deserve. She doesn’t see them as something you just walk and feed then ignore, she truly loves spending quality time with them.
