As we move into the warmer months, I’m also mindful of pavement temperatures and happy to schedule walks during cooler parts of the day when needed. Whether your pup needs a quick walk around the block, some playtime in the yard, or a slow scenic sniff to catch up on the neighborhood “doggie news,” I’m happy to tailor the visit to what they enjoy most. I’m based in the Harpers Ferry area and can service nearby neighborhoods, including the new builds in Charles Town.

When caring for pets in a client’s home, my top priorities are safety, consistency, and respect for both your pet and your space. I follow any instructions you provide closely so your dog can stay in their normal routine and feel comfortable while you’re away. During visits or walks, I pay close attention to behavior, surroundings, and environmental factors like weather and pavement temperature to help keep your dog safe. I’m also careful with doors, gates, leashes, and feeding instructions to make sure everything is handled exactly as you’d expect. I treat every home with the same care and respect I would want for my own. You can also expect clear communication and updates so you know your pet is happy and doing well while you're away. As a photographer on the side, I also love capturing a quick photo of your pup during our time together so you can see how they're doing.

🐾 Tell me a little about your dog so I can make our walks the best experience possible! Do they have a preferred side to walk on when we’re out and about? Do they tend to walk ahead, or are they the type to stop and sniff every interesting flower along the route? 🌼 Let me know if your pup has any favorite snacks, allergies, or dietary preferences I should be aware of. I’m also happy to incorporate treats or kibble into enrichment activities during our walk if that’s something they enjoy. 🦴 It’s also helpful to know how your dog feels about wildlife, other dogs, or new people. 🐕🦌 Some pups are social, while others are a bit more selective — and that’s completely okay! Knowing ahead of time helps me keep them safe and comfortable. The more I know about your dog’s personality, routines, and preferences, the better I can care for them, meet their mental needs, and make sure they have a fun and safe walk. 🐕
A typical day
Every dog enjoys their walk a little differently, so I like to tailor each visit to what makes your pup happiest. Does your dog enjoy a mid-morning snack? If you leave a small portion of kibble, we can turn part of the walk into a “sniffari,” where they get mental enrichment by sniffing and searching for a few pieces along the way. Some dogs love a brisk walk to burn off energy, while others prefer to take their time and “read the neighborhood mail” with their nose. I’m happy to adjust the pace and style of the walk to match your dog’s personality and needs. I can’t wait to meet your pup and let them show me what they enjoy most.

I’m a dedicated dog owner with two golden retrievers of my own, so caring for dogs is a daily part of my life. I’m very comfortable managing different energy levels and ages, keeping dogs safe on walks, and making sure they get the exercise and attention they need. I’ve also assisted dozens of dog owners with training support and behavior observation for their own pets. Paying attention to behavior, body language, and environment is incredibly important to me when caring for your family member. I’m especially attentive to routines, surroundings, and consistency. I understand how much trust it takes to leave your dog in someone else’s care. I treat every dog like family and aim to make every walk a positive, safe experience.
