Your local cat whisperer
Hi, I'm Laura. I work for The Economist and until recently I was the devoted cat mum to my sweet 14-year-old kitty (pictured with me). I have been cat sitting in my local area for the last year. I have a natural affinity with cats and pay close attention to their individual needs. I’d be honoured to share that care with yours. Friends and neighbours often call me a “cat whisperer” because even their shyest cats usually warm up to me, whether for quiet companionship or cosy cuddles. I'm happy to do house sits, boardings and drop ins. I have regular cat clients through Cat in a Flat and have recently added myself to Rover. Here’s what you can expect when I look after your cat: ◇ Respectful, reliable care for both your pet and your home ◇ Regular updates with photos and videos (as often as you’d like) ◇ Playtime and stimulation tailored to your cat’s personality (if required) ◇ Fresh food, water, and clean litter, always following your instructions I’d love the chance to make your cat feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away.

Safety, trust & environment
In my home: I live in a one-bedroom basement flat. There’s plenty of space for a cat or a small dog to feel comfortable and safe, and I keep the environment calm and pet-friendly. The cat flap is securely blocked off, so there’s no risk of pets wandering outside unsupervised. I also have a large, fully accessible back garden that’s perfect for dogs who want to stretch their legs in addition to their daily walks. In your home: When I care for pets in their own environment, I make sure they feel safe and loved while following your instructions closely. That includes feeding on schedule, fresh water daily, play time, litter box cleaning for cats, and walks/playtime for dogs. I’ll also send you regular updates with photos or videos so you can see how your pet is doing while you’re away.If you provide specific instructions, such as not letting a cat outside, I will follow them exactly

Schedule
I'm in the office 2.5 days a week - usually Tuesday and Thursday, and Friday morning, leaving lots of time and flexibility to feed and care for animals. I'm happy to do drop ins, overnight stays and boardings.
