A Lifetime of Love for Your Pup

Hello! I’m Laura, and I’m so excited to welcome your four-legged family member into my heart and home. Having grown up with dogs and raised three of my own beloved pups through to their golden years, I know firsthand that dogs aren't just pets—they are cherished family members. Now that my home is a bit quieter, I have a wealth of love, patience, and attention to share with your dog while you are away. Why Choose Me? Lifetime of Experience: I have over 40 years of experience living with and caring for dogs. Senior Dog Care: Having loved three dogs through their entire lives, I am highly comfortable with senior care, gentle pacing, and keeping strict medication and feeding schedules. A Safe, Loving Environment: Your dog will get my full attention, plenty of belly rubs, and a calm, reliable routine that mirrors the comfort they have at home. Whether your pup is an energetic walker or a professional couch cuddler, I adapt to their unique personality and needs. I can't wait to meet your furry best friend and give you peace of mind knowing they are in safe, loving hands!

This was our first time using Rover and we had a great experience working with Laura. She was quick to respond and it was easy coordinating our visits with her. The updates she provided gave us peace of mind that our dog Jordy was in good hands for the day. We would definitely work with her again in the future! Jordy seemed happy to spend the day with her in her home.

Laura is one of the most caring and compassionate people I know, especially when it comes to animals. She has a natural ability to make pets feel safe, loved, and comfortable, and her patience and kindness truly stand out. She is dependable, thoughtful, and genuinely passionate about the well-being of animals. Anyone who entrusts their pets to Laura can feel confident knowing they are in loving and capable hands. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for someone who will care for their pets as if they were family.

Schedule

My daily and weekly schedule is very consistent, which makes it easy to provide a reliable, stress-free routine for your dog. During the week, my schedule allows me to easily plan my day around a dog's needs. I am always home for dedicated morning, late afternoon, and evening care. Because my routine is highly structured, I can guarantee regular potty breaks, timely feedings, and medication administration on a strict schedule. My late afternoons, evenings, and weekends are wide open and entirely dedicated to pet care. Whether that means going for relaxed neighborhood walks, playing in the yard, or just offering quiet companionship on the couch, your dog will be a central part of my day. I treat guest dogs like family, fitting them seamlessly into a warm, attentive, and loving daily routine.

Safety, trust & environment

Safety and comfort are my top priorities, whether a dog is staying with me or I am visiting them in their own home. Having raised three dogs of my own, I know how important a secure and predictable environment is for a pet's peace of mind. In My Home: I maintain a calm, dog-friendly, and completely smoke-free environment. Before any stay, I do a thorough safety sweep to ensure all hazards, cords, or human foods are securely out of reach. Dogs in my care are supervised closely, and I follow a strict double-check policy on all doors and gates when entering or exiting. In Your Home: I treat your home with the utmost respect, keeping it secure, clean, and exactly as you left it. During visits or house sits, I stick closely to your security routines (locking doors, arming alarms) and ensure your dog is safely secured inside before I leave. My Care Philosophy: Tailored to the Dog: I strictly adhere to your specific rules regarding furniture, feeding schedules, and crate training to keep their routine seamless. On-Leash Safety: I always keep dogs securely on-leash during walks and remain highly alert to our surroundings and other animals. Constant Communication: I love sending daily photo updates so you can see firsthand how happy, relaxed, and safe your pup is!

A typical day

A typical day with me is structured, active, and filled with plenty of love! I like to tailor our daily rhythm to your dog’s unique energy levels and age. Morning: Fresh Air & First Treats We start the day bright and early with a fresh-air potty break, followed by breakfast served exactly on your schedule. Once breakfast has settled, we head out for a peaceful morning walk to sniff the neighborhood, stretch our legs, and get some gentle exercise. Midday: Brain Games & Pampering After our walk, it’s time for some fun mental stimulation! I love keeping dogs engaged with puzzle toys, a stuffed KONG, or a fun game of indoor fetch. If your dog enjoys being groomed, I gladly offer gentle brush-outs, which many of my senior guests find incredibly relaxing and pampering. Afternoon: Outdoor Play & Sniffari In the afternoon, we head outside for some dedicated playtime—whether that’s chasing a ball in the yard, practicing basic tricks for healthy treats, or going on a slow 'sniffari' walk where your dog gets to take their time exploring all the interesting scents. Evening: Cozy Cuddles & Wind-Down After dinner, the energy winds down. Evenings are reserved for ultimate relaxation. Your pup will get prime real estate on the couch for belly rubs, ear scratches, and plenty of quiet companionship while we relax for the night. My goal is to make every day feel like a fun, safe, and comforting staycation for your best friend!

To make sure your dog has the safest and most comfortable stay possible, it is incredibly helpful for me to know a few details about their unique personality and routine ahead of time: Daily Routine & Quirks: What is their typical feeding, sleeping, and potty schedule? Do they have any favorite resting spots or funny habits? Medications & Health: Are there any specific medical needs, joint sensitivities, or daily medications (including how they prefer to take them)? Leash & Outdoor Manners: How do they react when they see other dogs, squirrels, or strangers on walks? Do they have any tendency to pull or try to bolt? Anxiety & Comfort Triggers: Are they afraid of storms, loud noises, or being left alone for short periods? What is the best way to comfort them if they get anxious? House Rules: Are they allowed on the furniture? Are they crate-trained, or do they sleep in a specific spot at night? I always love doing a quick meet-and-greet beforehand to make sure we are a perfect match and that your pup feels completely at ease with me!
