Hi there, I’m Laura. You might recognise me from walking and cycling around Leamington and Whitnash. From a very young age I have loved animals and all of my friends know me as the biggest animal lover. I will give your dog as much love and affection it asks for. Or none, if it’s a dog who isn’t so fussed about being fussed! I’ll patiently wait on walks for the older, slower dogs, or those that like a good sniff. Equally, I’ll give the energetic ones a run for their money! Previously to being a dog sitter on Rover, I looked after my sister’s, friends’ and neighbours’ dogs for about 5 years, with walking, check-ins and having them to stay at my home. I’ve cared for both puppies and older dogs. Mess/clearing up after them is no problem. I initially joined Rover as my sister did a lot of dog sitting and walking via the app. As I didn’t have my own dog, I decided to help other people to look after theirs. So far, I’ve loved getting to know so many different dogs and their owners, and I’m building up a regular customer base. 🐾 Whether we meet in the local area or you pop round to mine, I think it’s really important for you, me and your dog to meet briefly before they come to stay for the first time. (However, I appreciate it’s not always possible.) I do have some standard questions I like to ask to understand your dog and make sure their usual routines and rules are followed. We can do this over message if needed. If I have your dog to stay for the day, I will make sure I am in for the entire day. If they are here over night, I’ll only leave them for an hour or so while I pop to the gym or head out for a run. Please note: I don’t have any experience in dog training. Big dogs are fine, as long as they don’t have behavioural issues and walk well on a lead (if they need a walk during their stay, of course). I do get a lot of requests to look after puppies. Unfortunately I am unable to look after young puppies Monday to Friday because of the time and attention they require - I do work full-time too! I am also unable to have dogs that are not yet housetrained. I do enjoy action packed weekends so my diary shows I am unable to take bookings, but please drop me a message to see if I might be free on the Saturday or Sunday you need a dog sitter. If I’m in, hopefully I’ll be able to help.

It was very hot today when Hector was with Laura. Laura was most solicitous of Hector's welfare, gave him loads of water and even he had ice to chew. Thank you Laura for your exceptional care and attention.

It was our first time leaving our pup Koda with a stranger for an extended period of time but Laura was amazing throughout. Would not hesitate to use her services again in the future
Laura was amazing with Poco. She met us beforehand and was very patient with him while he was initially quite nervous. Poco spent the day with Laura and had a lovely time snoozing, cuddling and playing. She was very understanding of his needs as an anxious dog, and really made us feel comfortable leaving him with her. Poco was very contented and tired when I picked him up, and we could tell he’d had a lovely day being looked after by her. Would 100% use Laura again!
Laura is a lovely, smiley, cheerful person and Teddy took to her immediately. She was very enthusiastic in meeting Teddy and wanted to know everything about him and this was reflected in the quality time she spent with him and the things they did together. On the daily text and picture updates Laura did some lovely walks with Teddy and Laura and her partner took him out for their breakfast. All three looked blissfully happy. It was so comforting for me seeing Teddy happy and Laura really enjoying her time with him. Laura’s house is perfect for dogs and Teddy was good company for Laura when she worked at home. Just like at home with me. Laura did so much more than a dog sit. Teddy was at no rush to leave when I arrived to take him home and this is testimony to the quality time she spent with him. I would not hesitate to leave Teddy with Laura again. She was so proactive with him, trying out his tricks and he looked as if he was having an enjoyable time.
Laura is an exceptionally attentive sitter who provides the best of care for our puppy. We trust her completely and she makes Treacle feel so comfortable, she always comes back so happy and tired from her adventures/sleepovers with Laura!

Schedule
I work for myself, at home. So, I have a lot of flexibility with being able to check in on, and walk dogs during the day. I can often be available at short notice. If you message me late at night, I will respond early the next morning. (I tend to go to bed early!)

Safety, trust & environment
I’ll take the safety and security of your dog very seriously. Therefore he/she will always be walked on its lead, in the quietest areas possible. (I live near a really nice walk through fields.) I will only walk off-lead at your request. If I’m checking in on them in their own home, all of your house rules will of course be followed. I live in a quiet neighbourhood, but for additional security I ensure the doors to outside are always locked. I’ll never give your dog tip bits/human food.
A typical day
Dog walking: Depending on your location, and how long you’d like your dog to be walked, I’ll generally use the lane and fields that lead to Radford Semele. Dog sitting: I also include an hours walk when your dog comes to stay. Depending on your dog and my day, maybe a little more. I tend to track our walk on my watch, and I’ll send you a photo of the time and distance we’ve covered.

- Not all dogs like other dogs. If yours is one of those that don’t, then I’ll be very mindful and do my best to use routes where they are less likely to come into contact with dogs - especially those off leads.
