Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine. I work primarily from home, which allows me to spend most of my day with the pets in my care. I also run a small postpartum care business and occasionally visit clients, but those visits are typically short, and I am rarely away from home for more than 3 hours at a time. My days are structured around making sure the animals in my care receive plenty of attention, exercise, companionship, and affection. Dogs enjoy regular potty breaks, daily walks, park visits, playtime, and lots of one-on-one interaction throughout the day. Whenever appropriate, they may also join me on pet-friendly errands and outings. In the evenings, I enjoy relaxing at home, which means plenty of cuddle time and companionship for pets who enjoy being close to their people. Because I intentionally keep the number of pets I care for limited, I am able to give each animal individualized attention and ensure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Caring for animals is something I genuinely enjoy, so it doesn’t feel like a job—it feels like having additional furry family members in my home.

Safety, trust & environment

I strive to make pets feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible, whether they are staying in my home or I am caring for them in yours. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, preferences, and personality so I can provide care that feels familiar and consistent. In my home, pets receive plenty of supervision, affection, exercise, and companionship throughout the day. I have a securely fenced yard for potty breaks and outdoor time, and dogs enjoy daily walks, park visits, playtime, and lots of opportunities to relax and feel at home. My small Maltese, Bella, is friendly and enjoys the company of other dogs. If I am caring for your pet in your home, I do my best to maintain their normal routine, including feeding schedules, walks, medications (if needed), playtime, and bedtime routines. My goal is to keep their environment as stress-free and familiar as possible while you’re away. I provide regular updates and photos so you can see how your pet is doing and have peace of mind knowing they are safe, happy, and well cared for. Every pet receives lots of love, attention, and individualized care while they are with me.

Information Laura D. would like to know about your pet

To make sure I can provide the best possible care for your pet, please let me know about any special needs, medical conditions, medications, allergies, fears, anxieties, or behaviors I should be aware of ahead of time. I also appreciate knowing your pet’s daily routine, favorite activities, and anything that helps them feel comfortable and at home. I welcome small, medium, and large dogs that are house-trained, well-socialized, and comfortable being around people and other dogs. Because I have a small Maltese named Bella and occasionally take dogs to parks and other pet-friendly environments, it is important that dogs are non-aggressive and able to interact safely with people and animals. Please let me know if your dog has a history of resource guarding, separation anxiety, excessive barking, escaping, destructive behavior, leash reactivity, or any other behavioral challenges so we can determine whether I am the right fit for their needs. For the health and safety of all pets in my care, dogs must be current on vaccinations and flea/tick prevention. My priority is creating a safe, happy, and low-stress environment for every pet in my care, and clear communication helps ensure the best experience for everyone.

A typical day

A typical day starts with a potty break followed by a walk or a trip to the park, depending on your dog’s energy level, preferences, and comfort around other dogs. If they enjoy socializing and do well with other pets, I love taking them to the park to explore, play, and get some exercise. After some morning activity, we head home for breakfast, relaxation, and playtime. Throughout the day, pets enjoy plenty of companionship, attention, and opportunities to go outside. Some dogs love playing in the backyard, while others prefer lounging nearby, napping, or getting belly rubs. I follow each dog’s individual needs and personality. In the afternoon, we’ll usually go for another walk, enjoy some playtime, or spend time outside in the yard. In the evening, I often take dogs back to the park or for another walk so they can burn off some energy before settling in for the night. Between walks and outings, there is plenty of time for cuddles, naps, play, and simply being part of my day. My goal is to create a balance of exercise, mental stimulation, companionship, and relaxation so your pet feels happy, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away.

Pet care experience

Hi! I’m Laura, and I would love to care for your furry family members while you’re away. Animals have always held a special place in my heart. I genuinely enjoy spending time with them, getting to know their personalities, and making them feel safe, loved, and at home. Whether your dog loves long walks and adventures or prefers cuddles and a cozy place to nap, I do my best to make sure they feel comfortable and cared for. I work primarily from home, which allows me to spend a lot of time with the pets in my care. I also have a small postpartum care business and occasionally visit clients, but those visits are typically short. I am rarely away from home for more than 3 hours at a time, so your pet will receive plenty of companionship and attention throughout the day. Dogs in my care enjoy daily walks, park visits, playtime, and lots of affection. Whenever possible, they come along with me on pet-friendly errands and outings, becoming part of my daily routine rather than simply being boarded. Many of my days revolve around the pets I’m caring for, and I genuinely enjoy having them by my side. I accept only one family’s pet at a time so that each pet receives plenty of individualized attention, affection, and companionship. My goal is for your pet to feel relaxed, happy, and loved while you’re away. I share my home with my sweet Maltese, Bella. She is small, friendly, and used to being around other dogs. If you are interested in house sitting, I would need to bring Bella with me, provided your pet is comfortable with other dogs and you are comfortable with the arrangement. Otherwise, I am happy to welcome your pet into my home where they can enjoy a safe, loving environment with lots of attention and care. I know how hard it can be to leave your pet with someone else, so I provide regular updates, photos and videos for peace of mind. There is nothing better than seeing a pet settle in, trust me, and start feeling completely at home. I treat every animal as if they were my own and would be honored to care for yours.

Laura was wonderful! After meeting her we were very comfortable with leaving our two Shelties with her and having her stay in our home. It was a great relief to find Laura! She was very affectionate with our dogs and showed great attention to understanding the details of caring for them. She bonded with them immediately, and we are sure they missed her after we returned home. Laura stayed in touch while we were away and sent us some really great pictures. We recommend Laura without hesitation!

Laura is great! My Perry loves to run and she takes him to a grassy area and runs with him. He also needs the running to keep his weight down since he won't do any other kind of exercise on his own. Laura is great with communicating with me about when she'll be here and about how the walk went. I just moved to Oregon lately and was worried about finding as great a dog walker as I had before but I needn't have worried. Laura is just as great as my last dog walker.

Laura watched my dog Keichi while I was away for four days. He was definitely in good hands she took him for many walks and played with him, I felt at ease leaving for my vacation. You can tell that Laura has a kind heart for pets. I will definitely be using her in the future ❤️.

Laura LOVES all animals, especially dogs and is a wonderful dog mom herself, to a cute Maltese / Pomeranian names Bekla. I would highly recommend her for Petsitting and dog boarding in her home. She has a large backyard and makes every pup feel at home. Plus Bella loves to play and share her toys with new friends!:p
