I’ve taken care of and fostered dogs and cats for 20+ years. My husband and I specialize in hospice and behavioral/medical special needs animals. I have experience with anxious and aggressive dogs; I am happy to provide medication and fluids as needed; I have experience dealing with seniors and puppies alike. We also provide private rooms for boarding cats in our home, or are happy to come to you. I also have horses and manage a farm in town, so I have experience with livestock and farm animals. I’d love to get to know your fur babies!

Laura is an amazing individual with a wealth of knowledge about animals. Her compassion is immense…she really cares. She is incredibly trustworthy, and will work hard to earn the trust of your beloved pet, and you. She is the only person I would trust to take care of my cat in my absence. Laura has helped care for my pets for over ten years, ranging from bunnies to cats and dogs to horses. She’s dealt with fearful kitties, an anxious dog, a dog who needed various medications, a senior horse with special dietary needs, and a horse who needed wound care. She’s careful, conscientious, and incredibly reliable. All my animals go nuts when she comes to visit!

I always call Laura when I need a trusted person to watch my pets- 1 dog and 2 cats. She takes care of them so well, they don’t even realize the transition when I get back from vacation. She also is attentive to when something isn’t right, and has helped with medicating my pets as needed, which is a huge win finding someone you can trust with medications. I always try to plan my vacations around Laura to ensure only the best for my pets!

Schedule
I am self employed and have great flexibility to provide your pets with the care they need. I am happy to take time to provide the necessary attention and enrichment for your kids while you are out of town.

Safety, trust & environment
We currently have 4 rescue dogs and 10 rescue kitties with various medical and behavioral challenges. I have worked with a veterinary behaviorist and trainer in town, and have learned to manage pet care with fear-free training. I am happy to engage with your pet in the manner you prefer. We offer private rooms for cage-free cat boarding, so your kitties feel safe and comfortable. I am comfortable walking dogs as needed and providing appropriate play and enrichment for your kids.
Pets
A typical day
I am a big proponent of enrichment activities for dogs and cats. I love going on purposeful walks, taking dogs on “sniffaris”, playing fetch, taking dogs swimming, etc. I like using enrichment toys for feeding and treat time.
