As a dog owner of my own for 8 years and growing up with pets, I know how important it is to find someone who will care for your pets like they’re family. Thats me! I will care for your animals like they are my own and will always strive to give them a positive encounter. I have experience with senior dogs as well as puppies (around 3 weeks old and up). I know sometimes extra care is needed and will always prioritize their comfort and well being. Additionally, I am good with shy and/or skittish dogs and know how to help them feel safe while showing them I am trustworthy and gentle. My experience with cats is about 10 years.

Laura was wonderful for my dog! He's very anxious and has trouble settling down, but Laura helped him feel comfortable quickly. I appreciated all her updates about him, I'll definitely be booking with her again!

Laura was very communicative and proactive. She took great care of our dog and respected our house when she stayed there for a few days. Loved the photos from the long walks!
Laura was great! Our dogs seemed to warm up to her quickly and we felt very comfortable leaving them in her care. She was communicative and sent great photos. We would definitely ask her to house sit for us again in the future.

Schedule
I am currently in school which helps my schedule be decently flexible. Most of my classes are online so I can be home with dogs the majority of the day! My dog, Sage, is a thriving child of divorce and is with her Dad until August.

Safety, trust & environment
If your dog is staying with me, I have a fenced area in the condo units where I live. Condo is single story. There are several parks close by, including the Alberta Park Dog Off Leash Area which is not fenced. If you are comfortable and your dog has good recall to me, I can take your dog there, too. If they prefer to be leashed the whole time, other parks are close and we will have just as much fun! If I am picking your dog up to walk and return to your home, I will take the utmost care to be gentle and respectful of your animal and home. It can be strange for animals to have someone new in their space and I will make sure they know I am a safe person. If pet parents are amenable, I usually have small training treats I give my dog on walks and can do the same for your dog! I have experience ranging from very young puppies to senior dogs as well as post surgery care.
Pets
A typical day
I usually start the morning with a nice walk, generally 2ish miles or about an hour of walking/sniffing. I will modify for smaller dogs, dogs with injuries, or at the owners request. Depending on dog needs, we’ll do breakfast before or after the walk. There is plenty of outside time if the dog would like it, otherwise I have a comfortable inside space where pets are allowed on furniture. We have lots of dog toys to share! In the evening we go for another long walk or potentially two shorter walks equivalent to the long one, depending on the weather.
