I’m normally not one to leave negative reviews, but I feel this is important for others to know. Let me start by saying this was our first time to using Rover, and I’m super grateful for Latrice accepting a last minute booking on Thanksgiving week. Our dog injured her leg right before our vacation, which ruined our plans of sending her to doggy daycare. She seemed to take good care of our babies while we were away, gave them meds and made sure they had food and potty breaks, which is the only reason this isn’t a one star review. The problem is what occurred when we returned home. First, the kickstand on storm door was broken. There was also a very strong food odor as soon as we walked in. We told Latrice she was able to use our kitchen, which she said she would make sure everything was clean before we got home. The dishes in the dishwasher were caked with food - all but two of our pots and pans had been used, most of our cooking utensils, and all of our mixing bowls - all of which were still dirty in our dishwasher. It looks like she cooked an entire Thanksgiving dinner and left all of the dishes for us to clean after our vacation. The garbage disposal also isn’t working and large chunks of food were coming out of the drain. Latrice asked me if everything was okay. I gave my honest feedback on what we walked into, thinking we could resolve this on our own. However, Latrice became argumentative and defensive about my “complaints” stating that everything was broken before they got there, including the dishwasher which is why the dishes weren’t done. What’s interesting is Latrice knows we have cameras in our home and still chose to lie about things being broken. We can clearly see her husband trying to fix our storm door on the second night she was there and trying to fix our garbage disposal the day we came home. She then told me how badly behaved our dog Huxley was despite giving me nothing but good reviews during her stay. It’s clear to me she was looking for a reason to combat my concerns about the state of our home. For all of these reasons, we will not be rebooking.
