I am an extremely cautious person, with extensive experience "pet-proofing" the environment to ensure that your precious pets don't get into things that could harm them. I'm also thorough in making sure that I understand any triggers (e.g., sounds, lights) that could affect your pets' comfort prior to housesitting your fur babies. I will ensure that I have any emergency contact information from you for vets, etc., prior to your travels. I also am extremely clean and want your pets to be in a clean environment as well, so proper potty breaks outside, etc. are top priority. Lastly, by ensuring that your pets' are well cared for and safe, you will enjoy peace of mind (and pet photo and video check-ins) during your travels!

Please let me know prior to my stay if your pets need any special attention regarding medication, separation anxiety, IBS, resource guarding, reactivity, prior injuries, etc. I have extensive experience administering medication and/or caring for dogs and cats with special needs and through every "pup" and “kitten” stage and want them to be safe and well cared for while you're away. Any emergency contact info. for vets, etc., is always great to share.
A typical day
I love spending quality time with fur babies and will take them on long or short walks throughout the day to soak up the fun and/or take potty breaks. And, there's nothing like a good game of fetch or tag to tire out your pup! If there are particular games that your dogs like to play, just let me know so we can have a paw-tastic time! Who let the dogs out?! Woof, woof, woof... And for all those precious, fun-loving kitties, a stimulating game of “mousie toss” and/or “treat treasure hunt” is the purr-fect way to spend the day!

Trusted in-home pet care for busy Dallas professionals and executives I've always adored animals and have 10+ years of experience owning and caring for animals, including a rabbit, dogs, and cats. I have extensive experience with house training, administering medication, and caring for fur babies with separation anxiety, leash reactivity, partial blindness, deafness, pancreatitis, IBS, asthma, diabetes, post-surgical needs, and mobility issues, among others. I'm a former pet parent of a Golden Retriever mix named Angel. She blessed my life immensely, and I'm so grateful that I got to do life with her for almost 14 years. For most of her life, she was on medication to ensure she absorbed all the nutrients in her food as she had pancreatitis. I'm well-versed in administering medication and making sure pets have everything they need to live a full, long comfortable life, with lots of love and snuggles. When it comes to canine and feline personalities, I'm comfortable caring for all dog and cat breeds as I have pet sat for friends' and clients' fur babies, including Yorkies, Husky mix, Dalmatian, Aussie mix, Britney Spaniel, Labs, Poodles, Doodles, Maine Coon, Russian Blue, Blue Golden British Shorthair, and more. I'm also a former plant mom. So, if you need your green babies cared for during your travels, I'm more than happy to nurture them as well. ***A Note About Inclement Weather*** To help ensure the safety and well-being of everyone during inclement weather, such as snow/ice storms and tornadoes, I encourage pet parents to consider nominating someone within walking distance of their home as an "Inclement Weather Emergency Contact." This should be someone you feel comfortable caring for your precious fur babies if inclement weather causes dangerous road conditions that would prevent safe travel to your home for pet sitting until the inclement weather subsides. 🐾💕

Shonda is the person you hire to watch your dog when you want peace of mind that your pup is in the best hands when you’re out of town. I cannot say enough good things about her. She sent plenty of pics and videos, Bella absolutely loves her (and vice versa), and she left the house clean for us. There are people who do ‘just enough’ to make you feel comfortable, and then there are people who go ‘raise the bar’ and truly go above and beyond your dog to take care of and love on your fur baby. That’s Shonda. We will definitely book her again!
Shanda is PHENOMENAL!!! Our animals absolutely loved her, she is truly the best. Prior to sitting, she provided a thoughtful document with questions about our pets and home. During the sit, we received an end of day recap and several photos illustrating the recap. And on top of that, she was a very considerate house guest. Could not recommend her enough!
