Pet care experience

Dogs need a little vacation too :)

Hi! My name is Lark and I’ve lived with a menagerie of loved and well-cared-for pets my whole life! I'm a former English teacher and current full-time parent. I've volunteered in dog shelters in Kansas City, Saint Louis, Sarajevo, and Tripoli. Along the way I’ve built up experience administering first aid and medication and worked with quite a few dogs with strong personalities and special needs. I have 5 years’ experience fostering and 11 years’ experience dog sitting. I now share a spacious home and garden with my dog-savvy kiddo, Zala, an extraordinary dog named Lily. I love hanging out with all kinds of dogs and understand each pet has unique qualities. I will make sure your best friend is comfortable and gets lots of cuddles. You’ll have total peace of mind trusting me with your canine friend: I’m communicative and will provide timely updates about your pet! I am currently a stay at home parent with a light online teaching and editing schedule. I'm fortunate to have open availability and am flexible for all services. It is, of course, nice when you get the opportunity to build rapport with a dog :) Our home is centrally located in Rolling Hills. We're about a mile away from Gulley Park and walk to the playground daily. Our home and secluded fenced-in yard are both spacious. I have worked remotely since my daughter was born and have been grateful to have had a stay at home parent experience. My desk is situated near the door to my fenced-in back yard so I am basically a dog doorman all day. I walk my kiddo to school and generally take the pups I am watching along with me. The dogs we watch add value to our household and we love the company. I have a large fenced-in yard and I have situated my "day job" desk so I can still keep an eye on puppers when they're outside. I watch a few dogs who like to eat grass so much you'd think they were goats and, well, I veto that. My house is dog-proofed to the extreme I once child-proofed it. Unless your friend chews baseboards or window treatments they'll be hard pressed to find opportunities for mischief.

We felt that our boy was very well taken care of, and we appreciated the fast responses and that she addressed her concerns. Getting regular updates and photos really helped us stay calm, and he came back happy as could be. She really is a great sitter and I’m so glad we chose her for his first boarding.

Great at communication and making sure you dog has what it needs during his/her visit. Makes sure to monitor weather for the pets for heat or fear of storms. Sent pic/video during our day boarding. Have already booked again for our long trip.

Lark did great watching Riley! She was able to get her last minute which we really appreciated! We’re definitely going to book with her again. Riley didn’t want to leave so we can tell she had a wonderful time :))

Schedule

I work remotely and am almost always home, except when shuttling my kiddo to and from activities. I do instill work ethic in my kiddo. I pay her a few dollars a day to brush doggos. She is everyone’s favorite per brushes and her willingness to dispense treats.
