Pet care experience
Come hang with the pack!
Larissa: They have spent their entire life caring for animals of many kinds, and have been pet-sitting for friends and family for almost 3 decades. They are the primary caregiver for the dogs when they are on Rover stays, and every dog gets specialized, individualized attention. They have handled dogs of all sizes and temperaments, and pride themself on being a calm and steady space for them to receive comfort when they are anxious at being away from their owners. For pet-sitting, Larissa is also available to care for large animals (especially horses) and birds, for an extra fee. Valerie: She has spent her entire life being obsessed with dogs, and has handled hundreds of dogs, of every type and temperament. She has almost 20 years of experience in dog rescue, having founded two successful non-profits in Tri-Cities, Washington (Mikey's Chance and HART). Now retired from full-time rescue, she still volunteers as a consultant, transport and foster home. When it comes to dogs, there is not much she hasn't seen or isn't able to deal with, and her support, knowledge and experience are vitally important to our Rover operation.

Ratings and reviews
Larissa and Valerie were fantastic as always. Loved seeing videos of Sasha merrily prance around the farm :) Great communication and above and beyond. They even gave Sasha some medicine to calm her during the fireworks (after asking my permission of course). Will continue to trust them with Sasha! Thanks Larissa and Valerie!!

First time using Rover app and we found a gem! Both of my dogs felt warm and welcomed. The ladies treated both dogs like their own and sent daily photos with updates. We felt very comfortable leaving the dogs in their care. I would highly recommend this dog sitter!!
Always a wonderful time for my crew out at the farm :) truly could not ask for a better sitter!!

Larissa is fantastic! We truly value our relationship with her and how respectful she is in our home and with our dogs. I highly recommend and look forward to rebooking in the future.

The crew had a wonderful weekend!

I think my dog has a better vacation than me. She is well taken care of and truly enjoys her time at Siyabonga.

Schedule
Boarding/day-care: Larissa and Valerie both work on the property full time and there is almost always someone home with the animals. Very occasionally, the dogs may be left for an hour or two, during which time they are crated or otherwise confined for their safety (inside or outside, depending on weather and the specific needs of the dogs). House-sitting: Larissa is available to stay with the animals almost all the time, barring the need to run a few errands. They will never be gone for more than an hour or two, and if your animals absolutely require 100% presence, that is open to discussion.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
Boarding/day-care: The dogs have free access to a large, grass back yard when weather permits and supervised access to the rest of the property, including daily pack-walks in our 1.5 acre pasture. There are horses and chickens on the property, and most dogs are not permitted in with them, nor will pet owners be held liable if a chicken comes over the fence and gets grabbed. There is one indoor cat, who usually does not interact with the dogs. There are approximately 10 barn cats, who know to avoid dogs, but we need to know if dogs are likely to chase cats, so we can control their movements. We use crates for feeding and sleeping (when necessary). Most of the time, the dogs are out and lounging about the house on a variety of sleeping surfaces. House-sitting: The owners and the animals dictate the routine, and it will be followed to the letter!

A typical day
Boarding/day-care: Daily pack-walks in our big pasture, playing with toys, throwing balls, snuggling, just hanging out and sniffing interesting things while life on the farm continues. House-sitting: Similar activities to the above, including walks if needed.
