I am currently home full time with my young children, so I have a very flexible schedule to help care for your pet. Occasionally I may need to bring them with me during care hours, so if your pet is very timid or not good around small children we probably aren't a good fit. Sorry.

I believe that it's important to understand any special needs of a pet (does it require medication), does it have an aversion to children or others animals, are there special toys or routines that would make the pet more content in my care? That is where communication with the owner is critical and sets everyone up for success!

While watching kitties, to keep them active and engaged I would play with cat toys - some that are usually a hit are as simple as string on a stick and laser pointers. I'm also happy to sit and snuggle with your kitty, if they are in need to closeness in your absence. While watching your pup - I would go for walks around the neighborhood, along the tow path, or to a local dog park - if the dog's personality was conducive to socializing with other pets (and with the owner's permission!)

I have been a pet owner my entire life. I've jokingly called myself a "cat whisperer" and pride myself in connecting with kitties of all ages. I will care for your furry friend like it is my own. I prefer to care for cats and small dogs as I'm admittingly intimidated by large dogs.

This was our second time having Lara watch our cat and we will continue to use her when we go out of town. She’s great with our cat. She’s communicative and sends lots of photos. Highly recommend Lara!

Lara truly is a cat whisperer! She took wonderful care of my senior cat Louis on short notice. She followed my instructions to the letter, was very easy to reach, sent great updates, and gave Lou plenty of attention and love while I was gone. I will use her again and would not hesitate to recommend her!
