I work remotely from home, only going into the office once or twice a month. So I have the flexibility to go for walks either in the morning or noon, and after work (around 5:30pm).

Safety, trust & environment
I live in a spacious flat with my fiancé (an equal animal lover) opposite King George’s Park in Wandsworth. I always take care before taking dogs outdoors to understand whether they have any triggers or particular stressors/dislikes that might set them off when outside - be it other dogs, smells, noises, etc. I do the same for every animal when staying indoors with them, and when I am pet-sitting in someone else’s home.

What they can and can’t eat, and how often, is important - I want to know they are getting everything they need. Any triggers or stressors (touching ears, little kids, loud vehicles or noises, etc), as well as special needs/medication is key.
A typical day
I'm lucky to have such lovely parks so close by. For short walks and quick run-arounds, King George's Park (which is 100m from my doorstep) is ideal. For longer walks when the energy kicks in, I enjoy grabbing a coffee from Wandsworth town and walking along the river towards Battersea, or in the opposite direction and doing a couple loops around Wimbledon Park. Also can't resist a walk along the Thames Path near Fulham Palace.

Pet care experience
I grew up in South Africa surrounded by animals, so having pets around has always just been a normal part of life for me. From dogs and cats to rabbits, hamsters, and the occasional farm animal, I’ve always loved being around animals of all shapes and sizes. Though yet to have a Roverr request for a farm animal (a girl can only dream). Since moving to London in 2021, the biggest thing I’ve missed is having furry company day-to-day.
Reviews

Lara was an amazing sitter, very helpful and responsive, and our little boy absolutely loved his time with her. Definitely recommend!

Monty has been to doggy daycare with Lara (and her partner Daniel) for two weeks and it’s been such a positive experience. They’ve both been absolutely wonderful with him, sending updates, photos, and videos which has been lovely to see what Monty's been up to. He has come home happy each day and clearly very well looked after. I would highly recommend them!

Lara and her flatmates were great with Fleurie - showering her with all the love and attention that she didn't want to leave! Thank you!

Lara was gentle and patient with Fleurie and sent me lots of photos and updates - it was clear Fleurie felt at ease and safe with Lara! We met before and went for a little walk also giving me peace of mind and it was clear straight away how much Lara understands and loves dogs - I would happily book another stay for Fleurie with Lara!
