Conscientious Pet Care 😻
Hello! I'm Lara, mom of 2 cats (a torty & an orange), and I'd love to keep your little one safe & happy while you're away! 😊 Training: I’ve literally never lived in a home without a dog and/or cat, so my pet care experience is lifelong. I recently moved from Seattle to Galena, and while in Seattle, I was a volunteer at Seattle Humane Society. After completing their basic cat care training, I chose to continue on and get trained & certified to work with the more "challenging" cats, and a further cert to care for the cats in isolation due to an infectious condition. Their curriculum includes interpreting cat behavior, monitoring their "ins" and "outs", identifying potential health conditions, what cats need for healthy stimulation, and most importantly, consent-based care. Cat Behavior: I've been a cat mom for 18 consecutive years, so I am very good at reading cats' behavior. When I meet a new cat, I am quiet, calm, and still. I always let them dictate how we will interact. Health: I have experience administering subcutaneous fluids, topical medications, and oral medications (in liquid and pill form). I've also completed the American Red Cross' Cat and Dog First Aid course. Communication: Having used cat sitters myself many times, I know how crucial communication is while you're away. I'll always note what I did, when, what I observed, and anything else that I would want to know in your position. My commitment to you is: I will be respectful of your home, I will provide top-tier care for your pet, and I will send lots of photos. 😸

I've utilized cat sitters many times myself, so I understand how important it is to trust the person you let into your home to take care of your most precious ones. I'm a very conscientious and respectful person, so I will take care of your pets and your home as if they were my own. I’ll feed & water your pets, get that litter box clean as can be, and play with and/or snuggle them according to their preferences.

Laura was an amazing sitter! I felt so comfortable knowing my cat, Maia, was in great hands while I was out of town. She sent tons of pictures and videos for us and I could tell that Maia loved having her stop by.
Lara took great care of our cat for 2 weeks while we were out of town. She is reliable, communicates very well about each visit with lots of pictures and videos (which is great to ease anxiety when away from your fur baby), and goes above and beyond with her care. I can highly recommend Lara as a cat sitter!

Lara did an excellent job taking care of our sweet kitty while we were away. She spent the time to really bond with our kitty and learn his personality. I felt at ease knowing that he was in good hands. Highly recommend her services.
Lara is awesome!! She took such great care of our 2 cats and our boys loved her. One of our cats was a little sick before we left, and Lara put our minds to ease and making sure updating us on how the boys are doing and if there are any signs of health concerns. And she sends us so many photos and videos! We really appreciate having Lara as our cat carer! Our cats are getting spoiled with her!

Schedule
I’m currently pursuing a part-time, online Accounting certificate program with the University of Washington, so I have class on Wednesdays from 7-11pm and Saturdays from 11am-2pm central. So those are the only times I can NOT do a drop-in visit (plus buffer time for driving).

- Just the normal stuff: Medications (dosage, schedule, location, instructions), any health conditions, where the food is stored, frequency/amount of treats, any personality quirks, and anything else I should know. Time permitting, I'm happy to come over for an introductory visit to get to know your pet and these details, and so you can get an in-person feel for me. (A phone or video call is also an option!)
