Hello! My name is Lara Madden Hughes and I offer dog walking and boarding services around the Chicago area. My husband Christian and I are musicians, educators, and arts administrators looking to help support dog owners around the area. Both of us work remotely so our schedule is fairly flexible! I absolutely love dogs and going for walks! I am happy to help with morning, daytime, evening, or weekend walks. I also feel comfortable with bigger dogs as I grew up with a German Shepard mix. I was a large force in dog training when we adopted our family dog from the shelter. I grew up with a dog always in the house, and since moving out of my parent's house I have missed canine interactions. Looking forward to the possibility of hearing from you! I am currently available weekdays after 6pm and weekends anytime. I am also open to house/dog sitting during during holiday weekends or whenever! There is flexibility within my schedule. I am very caring, detail oriented, and nurturing with clients. When caring for a pet I always make sure they have enough food and water. Dogs require consistency and reliability and I want to make sure my client feels that their dog is well taken care of.

Schedule
I am available to care for a pet in the early morning, late evening, or weekends with my current work schedule. With advance notice, there is flexibility in my schedule for clients.

I walk dogs around my neighborhood, through parks and greenery. I try to stick as closely as possible to the routine described by the pet owner to give the pet a sense of ease and consistency.
A typical day
I love to go on walks, bike rides, and play catch with dogs! My favorite places to walk are the parks and the Lake Shore path downtown.

- I would like to know any of any strange or erratic behaviors dogs may have ahead of time. As well as any sensitivities or dislikes that could make the dog upset. I like to know clear expectations on the amount of physical exercise that is needed to support the dog in achieving their happiest state.
