Pet care fits naturally into my routine, and I make it a priority in my day. I’m currently working part-time with a chiropractic internship from Monday to Thursday, which still leaves me with plenty of time and energy to give your dog the attention, exercise, and care they deserve. I’m available on weekdays after 4pm as well as on weekends, making it easy for me to accommodate walks, playtime, feeding schedules, or overnight care. I’m reliable, flexible, and committed to making sure your pet feels happy, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away.

Safety, trust & environment

I provide a safe, calm, and loving environment whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home. At my place, I have a fully fenced yard for secure outdoor time and supervised play. There is also one friendly 2-year-old Havanese (my parents’ dog), so I’m mindful of introductions and always make sure all dogs feel comfortable and safe. I can easily crate your dog if that’s part of their routine, or they’re welcome to have free roam of the house if preferred. In a client’s home, I respect your space and follow your pet’s usual schedule as closely as possible to keep things consistent and stress-free. My goal is always to create a trustworthy, secure environment where your pet feels relaxed, cared for, and right at home.

Information Lacey D. would like to know about your pet

Before dog sitting, it’s important to understand each pet’s routine, personality, and specific needs to ensure they feel safe and comfortable. I like to know their feeding schedule, exercise requirements, any medical needs or allergies, and how they typically behave around people, other dogs, or new environments. It’s also helpful to understand their training level, any triggers or anxieties, and what comforts them most. Having clear instructions and knowing their usual routine allows me to provide consistent, stress free care and make the experience as positive as possible for your pet.

A typical day

A typical day with me is active, engaging, and tailored to your dog’s needs. As a personal trainer currently completing my chiropractic internship, I take physical fitness seriously and that extends to the dogs I care for too. Your pup can expect plenty of exercise through walks, playtime, and outdoor adventures, including scenic walks along the river near my home. I also make sure to keep them mentally stimulated with games, enrichment activities, and lots of positive interaction. Whether your dog is high-energy or prefers a more relaxed pace, I create a fun, balanced routine that keeps them happy, healthy, and fulfilled.

Pet care experience

I’ve been caring for dogs since I was 10 years old and have never gone without having one by my side, so looking after them feels completely natural to me. While I was away at university, I even fostered a couple of dogs because I missed having that companionship so much it was incredibly rewarding to give them love and stability while they waited for their forever homes. I’m comfortable with a range of needs, from energetic puppies who benefit from consistent routines and basic training, to senior dogs who need a gentler, more attentive approach. What sets me apart is the genuine connection I build with every dog I care for as I treat them like my own. Recently, I lost my two dogs, and while I’m not quite ready to bring a new puppy into my home, caring for others’ pets feels like the perfect way to keep sharing that love, attention, and companionship that dogs deserve.

Lacey is one of the best! My sweet old girl, Coco, just loves Lacey and is always excited to go. Having someone who is reliable and great at communicating makes things so easy and stress free. If you need a dog walker, Lacey is my go to recommendation!

I highly recommend Lacey for Rover. She is an extremely hardworking and reliable individual with a natural ability to connect with both people and animals. Her background as a personal trainer has given her strong communication skills and a high level of responsibility, and she’s currently in the final stages of becoming a chiropractor, which speaks to her dedication and work ethic. She recently house and dog sat for my parents for a week, and they couldn’t have been happier. Their home was well taken care of, and more importantly, their dog was happy, comfortable, and clearly well looked after the entire time. I would trust her without hesitation to care for pets and homes. Anyone who chooses her through Rover will be in very good hands.

I can’t recommend Lacey enough! As a young working professional, it’s such a relief knowing I have someone I fully trust to take care of my dog, Daisy. Lacey is reliable, communicative and loves animals. Daisy is always happy and well cared for. It gives me peace of mind while I’m away for work. I’m grateful to have found her!
