Kytt’s Pet Sitt: 25 Years of Care

Experienced, Trustworthy, and Dedicated Pet Care Hi! My name is Kytt, and I’m an Assistant Professor and Faculty Librarian at Valdosta State University. Alongside my academic career, I’ve been caring for pets for over 25 years, working with dogs (and cats!) of all sizes, ages, and temperaments. I’ve had hands-on experience with a wide variety of breeds—from doodles and retrievers to working dogs and toy breeds—including Labradoodles, Golden Doodles, Bernedoodles, German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois, Dobermans, Great Danes, French Bulldogs, Chihuahuas, and many more. This experience has made me comfortable handling everything from high-energy working dogs to senior pets who need a little extra patience and care. I’ve also been trusted to care for dogs belonging to reputable breeders and have managed households with up to 10 animals at once for extended periods. Whether your pet needs structure, exercise, affection, or specialized attention, I’m confident in providing exactly what they need. What you can expect from me: Reliable, responsible, and detail-oriented care Plenty of love, attention, and playtime Experience with multi-pet households Comfort with a wide range of breeds and temperaments Regular updates so you always feel connected As someone with a flexible schedule, I’m able to provide attentive care day or night, ensuring your pet’s routine stays consistent and stress-free. Most importantly, I’m a true animal lover. I treat every pet as if they were my own—because I know how important it is to feel confident and at ease when someone else is caring for your furry family member. Whether you're at work, traveling, or just need a helping hand, you can relax knowing your pets are in caring, capable hands—happy, safe, and well-loved.

Safety, trust & environment

Safety, Comfort, and Peace of Mind Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities during every stay or visit. I begin each booking with a Meet & Greet so we can go over your pet’s routine, needs, and your expectations in detail—this helps ensure a smooth, stress-free experience for everyone. While you’re away, I provide daily updates and plenty of photos, so you can feel confident and connected knowing your pet is doing well. When I’m caring for your pets, they receive constant attention and supervision. Even if you have a fenced yard, I always stay outside with them during potty breaks to ensure everything goes smoothly and they stay safe. For added peace of mind, I come prepared with a pet first aid kit and am Red Cross certified in Dog & Cat First Aid and CPR—so your pet is in capable, prepared hands at all times. My goal is simple: to make sure your pets feel safe, loved, and completely at ease while you’re away.

We love Kytt! She is incredibly reliable and communicative during her multiple stays. I always know my boy will be happy when she comes to stay with him! It’s so reassuring to have a sitter who you know loves your pet as much as you do!

Kytt did an overnight stay for us. She was very reliable. Followed the instructions I left and texted when she had a question which I appreciated. And she sent tons of pictures. We came home to a happy dog. I will be using her again in the future.

Kurt was AMAZING!! She was available last minute for us to go on a spontaneous trip. We’ve only ever had our dogs boarded and had drop in visits for cats. We recently added a new kitty to the family. She was so attentive to them and their schedules. She sent lots of updates in photo form and text. She is so professional, kind and has great communication skills! Will definitely be rebooking Miss Kytt!! Thank you so much!!

Schedule

Flexible Schedule for Reliable, Consistent Care As a professor and librarian at Valdosta State University, I have a very flexible and predictable schedule that allows me to prioritize your pet’s needs throughout the day. On most days, I work standard hours (8–5), with the flexibility to take breaks as needed—so I’m able to stop in for midday potty breaks, walks, or check-ins to keep your pet comfortable and on routine. My schedule does occasionally vary: Every other Wednesday, I work 12–8 PM A few times each semester, I have a short Sunday shift (4–8 PM) Even with these minor variations, I plan carefully and always ensure your pet receives the attention, care, and consistency they deserve. What this means for you: No matter the dates you need care, I’m happy to work with you to create a schedule that keeps your pet happy, comfortable, and well cared for. Your pet’s routine and well-being are always my top priority.

Experienced, Attentive, and Detail-Oriented Care I have extensive experience caring for dogs of all sizes—from small breeds to giant breeds—and am comfortable working with a wide range of personalities and temperaments. If your pet has any quirks, behavioral concerns, or special considerations, I always appreciate knowing that upfront so I can ensure I’m the right fit and provide the best possible care. Your pet’s health and routine are extremely important to me. I have experience administering medications, including insulin injections for both dogs and cats, which require strict timing and consistency. Whether it’s medication, feeding schedules, or specific routines, I carefully follow all instructions to ensure your pet’s care remains seamless and stress-free. To provide the best care possible, I value: Clear communication about your pet’s needs and behavior Detailed care instructions (written lists are especially helpful) Consistency in routines to keep your pet comfortable and happy My goal is to keep your pets healthy, safe, and content while maintaining the same level of care they’re used to at home. When you book with me, you’re choosing someone who is dependable, attentive, and genuinely committed to your pet’s well-being. I’d love to meet you and your pets—feel free to message me to set up a Meet & Greet!
