I am a vet tech at a fast paced urgent needs animal hospital. I am CPR certified, comfortable giving injections, and have my B.S. in biology and have been trained in aseptic technique. I am comfortable working with many different types of personalities of animals. Knowledgeable in dog behavior, I try to create the most Fear Free experience possible for everyone. I have experience fostering rescued dogs and cats, including those with resource guarding tendencies and dog/dog aggro proclivities. I’m capable of working with you: if your dog has high prey drive and pulls for squirrels, let me know! I appreciate direct communication about an animal’s past history, behavioral quirks, medical needs and potential triggers. No such thing as too much info! I walk my own dogs 2 hours a day, so am capable of walking far distances for those energetic dogs.

Kyria is the best. Our rescue puppy, who can be very anxious around new people, loves her and is so excited to see her when she comes to pick him up for his weekly walks. She’s also super knowledgeable about pet care and pet health which is a huge plus for any anxious or new pet parents!
I've trusted kyria to watch my dog for on several occasions, and she gave her constant attention and activity while keeping me updated with frequent pictures. As she's also a vet tech, her experiance brought several health issues to my attention. I would definitely have Kyria watch my dog again
Kyria was an amazing caretaker for my dog and my cat. She is extremely knowledgeable about dog behavior, and taught me a few things about anxious dogs - things I had no idea about. She was able to walk my reactive large dog without issue, and was helpful in communicating obstacles that arose. She was careful and responsible. As she works in the veterinary world, she is also capable of letting you know if she notices anything to note about your dog’s health. So great, can’t wait to book again!!

Schedule
I work full time. I’m available after 6PM and before 8 AM most days as well as 1 hour during lunch. I can amend my hours as needed.

- I would like to meet a dog at least 2x with you before officially doing a drop in or walk. This is to reinforce my status as a friend and not a stranger, and to create an environment of comfort and stability to your pet. I would like to know of any resource guarding (human/dog or dog/dog), stranger danger tendencies, behavioral quirks like disliking people running towards them, medical needs like SQ fluids, do they get along with other cats/dogs/people, do they prefer no direct eye contact and a squat down, etc: everything that is pertinent history of your pet is something I would want to know. Favorite treats, allergies, command words, etc are all wonderful to know too.
