I am available to provide pet care during mornings and evenings/overnight. Please note that I am flexible throughout the day but will not be able to sit 24/7 due to external commitments. On Saturdays and Sundays, I have greater flexibility in care to play with your animals!

Before caring for your pet, I’d love to know about their energy level, any medical needs, and how they do with new people. It’s also helpful to know what comforts them, what they enjoy (do they get treats? Do they like toys?), and if there are any behaviors I should be aware of—like food guarding, anxiety, or leash reactivity. With this information, the better I can keep them happy and safe!

While caring for your fur baby, I’ll give them lots of love and attention to stay physically and mentally healthy! Whether we’re playing, walking, or just relaxing together, I’ll make sure your pet feels safe and cared for every step of the way. When initially getting to know your pets, I’ll be sure to approach them gently to make sure they settle in well with me. When coming in for daily visits or sitting at your home, I’ll give them potty breaks and allow them extra time outside (if comfortable) to explore their environment. I tailor my time and types of stimulation your pets need based on their personality. For high-energy pups I’m sitting, I’ll add in fun games or basic training for mental stimulation. I also understand that downtime is equally as important as play time! During this time, I’ll make sure your pet has fresh water, snacks if approved, and lots of affection. For my own energetic pup, she gets lots of extra time outside running around the yard and playing tug of war. Of course, I also love cuddling with animals and making sure they feel cozy, calm and at ease. If I’m staying overnight, expect a cozy bedtime routine with their favorite toys or blankets— and plenty of fresh water. I’ll keep a good eye on them throughout the night to ensure they are feeling great! Ultimately, my goal is to make sure your pet is safe and completely comfortable! :)

I am a pre-veterinary student majoring in Wildlife with 9 years of experience caring for pets, including friends’ and family’s dogs, cats, rabbits, reptiles, and guinea pigs. I grew up with two dogs, a papillion (Ivy) and zuchon (Luna). This taught me valuable skills from a young age, such as importance of responsibility and communication when handling animals in difficult or confusing situations. I worked at the Potawatomi Zoo during the Summer of 2025, where I helped care for a variety of animals, keep everything clean, and prepare diets! It was an incredibly rewarding experience to build relationships with both the keepers and many of the animals. I am a committed volunteer at Pet Refuge and Natalie’s Second Chance, where I assist with walking dogs, providing enrichment activities, feeding, and general shelter upkeep. I have worked with both young and senior dogs, and small and large dogs. I am committed to specific shifts each week and always communicate ahead of time when my schedule changes/a conflict comes up. As your pet’s caregiver, I will be honest and open with you, ensuring a positive experience for everyone. I also have ten years of experience caring for rescue horses and large animals—this has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my animal career as I first hand witnessed their confidence grow in a new environment. I worked in physically demanding situations where I became more independent and tackled several responsibilities. I provide attentive care by following the owner’s instructions closely, ensuring pets are fed, exercised, and happy! I maintain a clean environment and offer lots of love and attention to keep pets comfortable.

I couldn’t have asked for a better person to watch my two dogs! Kyra was incredibly attentive, kind, and clearly loves animals. From the daily updates and photos to how relaxed and happy my dogs were when I returned, everything was top notch. My dogs can be a bit anxious and high maintenance, but they warmed up to Kyra right away, which says a lot. I felt completely at ease knowing they were in great hands. I highly recommend Kyra to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter!
