Globetrotting Animal Lover & Sitter

Hi, I'm the founder of Travel Tails! Dogs have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up with a wonderful mix of dogs, including rescue mutts, a Border Collie, and a Doberman, which sparked a lifelong love of canine companionship. For more than 25 years, I've been caring for dogs of all shapes, sizes, and personalities. Throughout my years of travel, I've combined my love of exploring with dog sitting, caring for pets across the UK, Colombia, Spain, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Australia. It's been a fantastic way to spend time with amazing dogs while helping owners feel confident their pets are in safe hands. I provide dog sitting, overnight stays, dog walking, feeding, companionship, playtime, medication administration, and day-to-day care tailored to your dog's individual needs and routine. I've looked after dogs on both short and longer-term assignments, caring for them daily and taking them on regular walks, usually twice a day. I love getting dogs out and about, whether that's exploring local parks, enjoying longer walks for more active breeds, or even the occasional train adventure into London (with owner permission, of course!). If we're near the coast, a beach walk is always a favourite. Equally, I'm very mindful that every dog is different. Older dogs, those recovering from an operation, or dogs with mobility issues often need a gentler pace, and I'm comfortable adapting their care accordingly. I also have experience administering medication and caring for dogs during recovery periods. Building a bond with a dog is one of the most rewarding parts of pet sitting for me. I enjoy playing with them, keeping them mentally stimulated, and making sure they receive plenty of affection, attention, and reassurance while their owners are away. My preference has traditionally been to care for dogs in their own homes, as familiar surroundings help them feel relaxed, secure, and comfortable. However, I'm now also able to welcome dogs into my own flat. My availability can be tailored to suit your dog's needs. I work a hybrid schedule and would ideally need to be in the office one day per week, but outside of that I'm generally very flexible and spend a significant amount of time at home. I'm happy to discuss your dog's routine and ensure we're a good match before any booking. What I love most about dogs is the joy they bring to everyday life, the laughter, silliness, unconditional love, companionship, empathy, and their wonderful ability to live completely in the moment. If you're looking for someone who will care for your dog as if they were their own, I'd love to hear from you. Travel Tails is based near Blackhorse Road, Walthamstow. PS - I'm also very happy to care for other animals too!

I can't recommend Kylie enough, she takes such wonderful care of my dog (Woody) whenever I'm away treating him with so much love and attention. I always have complete peace of mind knowing he is happy, safe and well looked after. Kylie is reliable, caring and genuinely passionate about animals.

Kylie is amazing, our dog Axel is instantly familiar, no matter how much time goes by between visits. He adores Kylie. No matter the instruction I can be sure beyond doubt all Axel's needs are taken of. I would recommend Kylie over and over again!

Kylie has looked after our 3 year old Doberman Nixy on numerous occasions, allowing us to be away, knowing she is in great care. Having busy careers, Kylie is always on hand last minute if commitments crop up. Nixy adores her - caring, great fun and lots of different walks which she needs. Can’t thank you enough, highly recommended

Schedule

I only take on dog-sitting bookings when I know I can give a dog the time, attention, and care they deserve. I work from home on Fridays and am generally available at weekends, which makes those days ideal for dog sitting. During the week, I can often help with morning or evening walks, and I may be available for midweek dog sitting if it's arranged in advance. I keep my schedule fairly flexible and would always rather take on fewer dogs and do a great job than overcommit. If you're interested, just drop me a message and we can see if it's a good fit.

Safety, trust & environment

I have a secure, dog-friendly flat with access to a garden, giving dogs plenty of space to relax and feel at home. I always keep a close eye on the dogs in my care and make sure they're safe, comfortable, and getting the attention they need. Having looked after dogs for many years, I understand that every dog is different, so I'm happy to follow their usual routines to help them settle in and feel at ease.

A typical day

A typical day starts with letting your dog out, followed by a morning walk and breakfast. Once they've had time to rest, we'll enjoy some playtime, enrichment activities or cuddles, depending on their personality and energy levels. In the afternoon, we'll head out for the longer walk of the day, exploring local parks and enjoying games of fetch or their favourite toys. The evening is all about winding down with a shorter walk, dinner, and plenty of relaxation before bedtime. Throughout the day, your dog will receive lots of attention, affection, and companionship, with their routine tailored to their individual needs.
