Hi there! We’re Kyle and Meg, a couple in our 30s living on a small farm just outside of Charlottesville. We share our home with a variety of animals and have experience caring for pets of all ages, temperaments, and needs. We understand how hard it can be to leave your pet behind. Our focus is dependable, thoughtful care that gives you true peace of mind. Meg has several years of professional experience in animal husbandry, including work in an animal hospital and shelter. We are both Fear Free certified and Pet CPR/First Aid certified through Blue Cross, with training in low stress handling, canine body language, and emergency response. Our home, often endearingly referred to as “Dog Disneyland”, offers outdoor time, enrichment, and structured attention. Because we work from home, pets receive consistent supervision, exercise, and affection throughout the day. We’re especially comfortable working with high energy dogs and those who benefit from calm, confident handling and structured care. When appropriate, we incorporate supervised slatmill (canine treadmill) enrichment to provide focused, controlled exercise that helps dogs feel more balanced and relaxed during their stay. Whether your pet stays with us or we care for them in your home, you can trust they’ll be safe, respected, and genuinely cared for. We’re always happy to schedule a meet and greet to ensure it’s the right fit for everyone.

We could not have wished for better care for Lottie than for her to be looked after by Meagan. We booked on very short notice and Meagan took such wonderful care of Lottie for two days whilst we attended events in the area. We could not recommend Meagan highly enough and will definitely rebook when we are in Charlottesville again. Thank you! Xxx

•How does pet care fit into our daily routine? Pet care is a natural part of our daily routine since we work from home and live on a farm with several animals of our own. Caring for animals is woven into everything we do, from morning routines, to outdoor play, and evening wind down time. We spend a lot of time outside, so pets staying with us get plenty of exercise and fresh air. Throughout the day, we make sure to give each pet the attention, love, and care they need, whether it’s a good belly rub, playtime, or just companionship.

•How do we care for pets in our/your home? In our home, we ensure they feel comfortable and part of our family. Our farm offers plenty of outdoor space for safe play, exercise, and exploration. We work from home, which allows us to give your pet lots of attention, affection, and supervision throughout the day. Whether your pet enjoys active time outdoors or prefers to relax and snuggle; we tailor each stay to your dog’s energy level, temperament, and comfort. If we’re caring for your pet in your home, we follow your established routines as closely as possible to ensure they feel secure and comfortable. We provide regular walks, feeding, playtime, and any special care instructions you may have, always prioritizing their well-being and happiness.

Ample socialization with a variety of dogs in our home. Hikes through the woods with our personal dogs. Playing with toys (Kyle might as well be a professional tennis ball thrower at this point). For dogs who benefit from more focused outlets, or owners who are interested in their dog learning a new skill, we also incorporate supervised slatmill (canine treadmill) sessions for structured, controlled exercise. Is your dog more of a couch potato? We always have time for snuggles on the couch.
