Animal Behaviour & Welfare Student
Hi I'm a current undergraduate Animal Behaviour and Welfare student with a lifelong passion for caring for animals. Throughout my life, I've owned and cared for a wide variety of pets, including dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, tortoises, turtles, a crested gecko, a conure and the opportunity to volunteer with other small animals in college and various work experience placements, so I would be confident looking after a range of species. I offer dog walking, drop-in visits and house sitting in the Neath Port Talbot area during weekends, university holidays and bank holidays. As a driver, I can travel through Neath and surrounding areas to provide suitable and reliable care for your pets in the comfort of their own home. My degree and previous work experience placement in a local cattery, pet store and a dog groomer's have helped me expand my understanding of animal Behaviour, Welfare and the individual requirements of each species, which I apply constantly when around every animal. Whether your pet is highly energetic and playful, elderly, or shy, I aim to provide attentive and compassionate care tailored to each of them. I am also Pet First Aid & CPR certified, so able to remain calm under pressure and provide your pets with the best care in an emergency. I understand how important trust is as an animal owner myself when leaving your pets and home in someone else's care. I will always keep you updated, send regular photos of how your pets are doing, follow your instructions carefully to stick to their usual routine as much as possible and treat your pets as if they were my own I look forward to meeting you and your animals!

Your pet's safety, comfort, and wellbeing will always remain my top priorities. I understand that every animal has its own routine, personality, and needs, and I always take the time to follow owners' instructions carefully, to ensure the best care and wellbeing for your pets. As a Pet First Aid & CPR Certified and Animal Behaviour and Welfare student, I have an understanding of animal behaviour, welfare, and recognising signs of stress or illness. I will always monitor your pet closely and contact you immediately if I have any concerns at all. When caring for pets in your home, I treat your property with the same respect I would my own. I aim to maintain your pet's normal routine, provide regular updates and photos, and ensure they feel safe and comfortable while you are away. I am happy to arrange a meet-and-greet to learn about your pet's routine, preferences, medical needs, and any behavioural considerations.

Kyla looked after our three dogs and two cats for us while we were away. Instantly our dogs fell in love with her when she came for a pre meet up ( which is always a good sign). Kyla was fantastic, everything we asked she did and even did extra like washing the dog bowls after the dogs had eaten ( we hadn’t asked this Kyla had the sense to do this) We will 100% be booking Kyla again. She is trustworthy, fantastic with the animals and all around a nice person. Communication was also Amazing pictures everyday and messages. Thank you for looking after our animals so well.

Kyla arrived very promptly, & was immediately the centre of attention for my little pup Ernie - such that I don't think he even noticed that I'd gone! Kyla totally put me at me ease, handling Ernie with affection & confidence. When I got back from my day out, it was obvious that he"d had a really good time, also shown by the photos that she'd sent me during the day. Ernie was very laid back with me that evening, content & tired after a happy day. I very much look forward to using Kyla again , & so does Ernie!

Schedule
As a student, my availability varies throughout the academic year. I am regularly available on weekends, and available at most weekdays and weekends during university holidays (Easter, Christmas & summer holidays). I can provide dog walking, drop-in visits, and house sitting during these periods. I am always happy to discuss individual requirements and will always communicate my availability clearly before confirming a booking.
