Pet care experience
Animal lover + Hiker + Genuine
Hi, I’m Krystle. I’ve had animals in my life for as long as I can remember, and caring for them has always been something I’m deeply passionate about. While dogs are my favorite, I’ve also raised and cared for cats, chickens, and have experience around horses and other farm animals as well. Over the years, I’ve worked with dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments, from energetic puppies to senior dogs needing a slower, more attentive pace. I also have experience with special needs pets, including three-legged dogs, arthritis, and sensitive digestion. I’m comfortable with all aspects of care, including feeding routines, administering medications, bathing, light grooming, structured exercise, hiking, playtime, and of course plenty of affection and snuggles. I truly believe animals feel the energy you bring, and I strive to create a calm, safe, and supportive environment for every pet in my care. I’m also a Wilderness First Responder, which gives me a strong foundation in handling unexpected situations. I have experience treating minor injuries such as puncture wounds, removing foxtails, and staying aware of environmental hazards like snakes and toxic plants, especially important here in the desert and on trails. One of the most meaningful experiences I’ve had was fostering a terrified, unsocialized Rez puppy who had no prior human connection. With patience, consistency, and care, he transformed into a confident, loving dog and became the shadow of my sweet Opi boy (may he rest in peace). I trained him in foundational commands like sit, stay, lay down, gentle, and recall, and helped him become a well-adjusted trail companion. I’ve also trained my own dogs in both manners and fun tricks like roll over, spin, speak, hug, and shake. I said goodbye to my sweet boy, Opi, in January of this year, and I no longer have dogs of my own. Because of that, I’m able to fully dedicate my time, attention, and space to the dogs I care for. Before this chapter of my life, I served just over 9 years as an Active Duty Marine. That experience shaped me into someone who is highly reliable, detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and deeply committed to doing things the right way. I approach every pet with empathy, attentiveness, and genuine care, and I’m always happy to answer any questions to make sure you feel completely comfortable trusting me with your furry family members.

Crystal is a wonderful person to leave your pet with. We were traveling from AZ to Idaho and wanted to visit Arches and Canyonlands parks. In the past we could not do this. as what do you do with your dog. Then we found out about Rover and found Crystal. Communicating with her was easy and timely. We normally want to do a meet and greet but based on her reviews and our timeline we had to skip this step. The minute we met her we knew our puppy would be in a loving home. She sent pictures and updates as the day progressed. I highly recommend Crystal if you are in Moab and need a place for your dog to stay while you explore.

Great communication and fun day for pup

Krystle was amazing. This was the first time we had left our dog with someone he doesn't know and we left him for a week to go on a river trip. From our first conversation, Krystle worked hard to understand his quirks, as she politely called them. She listened when I explained that he doesn't like all dogs and made sure he had good experiences both on the trail and in her house. We did a slow intro to the other dog who was staying with her and he actually ended up trying to get her to play. Krystle took him hiking every day and her husband even took him running when he needed a little extra. We stayed in Moab a few days after the river trip and when I took him back to Krystle's for another hike he dragged me across the street to get to her, he was that happy to see her. She has a way with dogs. Krystle and Adam gave our dog a good experience that has helped him build confidence. We couldn't be happier!

Krystle is a wonderful choice for dog care She took Stella for hikes every day and was very caring and thorough. I could tell that Stella had a great time during her stay

Krystle was amazing. She took meticulous notes and lots of cute photos. Our pups clearly had a good time!

Krystle was great! We felt so comfortable leaving our dog there while we hiked in some of the national parks. Very responsive and responsible and will definitely use again if we ever return. Thank you Krystle!

Schedule
Pet care is my full-time focus, so my days are intentionally structured around the needs of the animals in my care. This allows me to provide consistent attention, regular outdoor time, enrichment, and a calm, stable environment throughout the day. I prioritize a balanced routine that includes exercise, rest, and individualized care based on each pet’s energy level and personality. Whether your dog thrives on activity or prefers a more relaxed pace, I’m able to adjust my schedule to support what makes them feel most comfortable and at ease.
Where your pet will stay
Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
I take a thoughtful and highly individualized approach to pet care, tailoring each stay to your dog’s specific needs and your preferences as an owner. No one knows your pet better than you, and I value that insight, whether it’s routines, medical needs, quirks, favorite toys, or anything that helps them feel safe and comfortable. Safety is always a top priority in my home. I have a fully fenced backyard for secure outdoor time, and I’m experienced in managing a wide range of temperaments, energy levels, and group dynamics. I’m able to provide structure, supervision, and separation when needed to ensure every dog feels safe, respected, and supported. I maintain a calm, stable environment and am very attentive to behavior, body language, and overall well-being. My goal is to create a space where dogs can relax, feel secure, and settle in naturally. My husband and I both genuinely love animals, and your pet will be welcomed into a home that is attentive, respectful, and caring. Your pet will be cared for with genuine attention, respect, and affection every step of the way.
A typical day
A typical day is thoughtfully tailored to your dog’s energy level, personality, and individual needs. I maintain a structured but flexible routine that includes a healthy balance of exercise, enrichment, rest, and one-on-one attention. For more active dogs, this can include walks, playtime, and outdoor exploration in safe, low-traffic areas. I often take dogs to places like Ken’s Lake for fresh air and space, and for those who enjoy water, there may be opportunities for swimming or even paddle boarding (with your approval). For dogs who prefer a slower pace, I provide a calm and comfortable environment with cozy dog beds, a large couch, A/C, and plenty of space to relax. Whether they want to nap, stay close, or simply observe their surroundings, I make sure they feel safe, settled, and supported. I have a fully fenced backyard for secure outdoor time, along with a variety of toys to keep things engaging. Throughout the day, I focus on creating a consistent rhythm so your dog knows what to expect and can settle in naturally. My approach is attentive and intentional, ensuring each dog receives the level of care, structure, and engagement that best suits them.
