Pet care experience

Farmer/Animal Scientist/Dog Lover

I have loved animals of all shapes and sizes and species since before I could walk or talk. I have dealt with nearly every type of critter, from sweet, aging canines needing constant attention, to naughty stud colts who were “born to wild”, from doctoring critically injured newborn lambs, to tassling massive guard dogs with an attitude. I’ve worked with all manner of pets, rehabbed wildlife, and trained raptors. I’ve bred snakes and geckos, dairy goats, horses, and consulted on raising alpacas and sheep. I’ve worked for Nature centers, zoos, and veterinarians. I currently run a goat dairy selling raw dairy and other goodies for pets. If you need it cared for and can show me what you want, I can provide top notch care!

Kristy owns a small farm in the Chattahoochee Hills area with lots of animals and dogs. Kristy was very accommodating and flexible with our changing schedule. The dogs came home very tired and have slept well.

Our Luna was very happy to have the space to run around and play with the other dogs. Would recommend Kristy and her family are amazing.

Schedule

We both work from home and any visitors are just added to our routine of working outside 90% of the time. As it’s a farm, the pups get to join in on our activities.

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives on a farm/ranch
Has a fenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 2 dogs, 2 cats
Children 0-5 years old
Dogs not allowed on bed
Dogs not allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 0-2 hours

Safety, trust & environment

We have a fully fenced yard that surrounds the house and is double fenced where the pastures are. There are tons of animals to encounter and smells galore (it’s a farm!) so your pup will likely be happy and tired by the time you return.

Pets

A typical day

If you live close by, Cochran Mill Park is the ideal place for a pet walk. If you are boarding with us, we own a farm and have plenty of room to race in circles, chase flirt poles, or just soak up some sun!

The best info to share with me, is the dog’s typical routine. Animals feel safest when their routine is consistent and that’s what I strive to provide. No breed preference here, I’ve fostered pit bulls for years and trained Great Danes, German Shepherds, and other large guardian breeds (little dogs are awesome too!) Vaccinations are not required, but up to date flea/tick control is necessary.
