I’m fluent in cat behavior and body language, and in the subtle ways cats communicate stress, fear, curiosity, and trust. My approach is calm, observant, and respectful of each cat’s individual personality and boundaries. I share my home with two very different cats who have shaped how I care for animals. My older cat, Paul Simon (9), came to me as a kitten after surviving a serious accident and recovering from significant orthopedic injuries. As he healed, it became clear that he also had complex behavioral needs. Over the years, I’ve worked closely with veterinarians and specialists to navigate anxiety, fear-based behavior, pre-medication for vet visits, and long-term care for chronic conditions, including dental issues and mild cardiac disease. He’s affectionate, intense, and opinionated—and caring for him has taught me patience, adaptability, and deep respect for feline boundaries. My younger cat, Books, is medically fragile and has required consistent, attentive care. Supporting him has made me very comfortable with medication routines, monitoring subtle changes in behavior or appetite, and following detailed care instructions. I’m attentive, methodical, and aware that even small changes can matter when a cat has medical needs. In addition to caring for my own cats, I have years of pet-sitting experience, including extended in-home care. I’m comfortable following detailed instructions, maintaining routines, and providing reliable, professional care while you’re away. Because of this experience, I’m especially well-suited for cats who are shy, senior, anxious, medically complex, or simply particular about how—and when—they want interaction.
