Pet care experience

mature and responsible pet sitter

I love all kinds of dogs, little wild ones, big slow ones, big sporty ones. They just crack me up. I will treat your pet with the utmost love and care at all times and be communicative with you about any changes in behavior, possible issues. I've had dogs my whole life and have been doing urban pet care for almost 10 years. I clarify, cause farm dogs are a totally different animal and I wouldn't ever even try to leash one. Ha!! I look forward to hearing from you. -Kristy Most of my experience has been with my own pets. I've had cats or dogs (usually both) my entire life. Growing up on a farm they get into all kinds of trouble and frequently need special attention. I also frequently pet sit for friends, neighbors and former employers. I'm very responsible and will care for your pet as you request. No treats unless you say so and no sofa time unless that's ok with you. Why I love dog sitting I've loved dogs since I was a kid. I've always had animals in my life. Dogs, cats, chickens, a calf I bottle fed, horses... need I go on. Most of my dogs have been in the 60lb range. So I'm used to holding my ground and handling them when they get excited. Since I've been in LA, I have been a surrogate parent to my friend's dogs, but have had my cats Doodie (now with my ex) and Harris (my little southern girl). I also have a special gift for catching "runaway" pets when their owners can't. My experience administering medication Yes. I'm a master of the blow in the face to make them swallow their pills trick. I have also given shots before to a diabetic weenie dog.

I was so nervous about leaving my dog in the care of someone she didn't know for the first time, but Kristy did a wonderful job. Fang can be a little bit feisty, but Kristy was able to win her over, and did a great job communicating and sending photos!

Kristy was a fantastic sitter for my cat Hal! She sent photos every day and stopped by around the same time. Hal seemed very at home with her while I was away!

Another great stay with Kristy! Molly got A LOT of exercise with her. When we got back, I think Molly was disappointed it wasn't Kristy walking in the door.

Everything was great. Kristy did a good job taking care of our pets. Pictures of happy dogs were sent and she was able to communicate clear answers to any questions we had during our time away.

Kristy came to the rescue when I needed a sitter at the very last minute. She was easy to work with and did a great job looking after my 8 yr old Malamute. I would definitely work with Kristy again!

Kristy sent me a picture of Molly every day over our 4-day 4th of July weekend trip. She kept me updated on goings on with the house. It looks like Molly was happy, healthy, and well fed. Would recommend her to anyone looking for a good sitter!

A typical day

Time I'll spend with your dog Depends on the animal and the owner. I am happy to stay at your place over night or just drop by a few times during the day. Cats I usually do 1-2 check in / hangouts of 20-30mins each. For dogs I do 2-3 walks / hang outs of 30-45mins each. If you'd like me to stay at your place, I can and will do am and pm walks with a mid-day check in or walk. If your pets need more time than that, let me know as I can probably accommodate. Extra house-sitting services My overnight rates are higher for this reason. Housesitting is a separate service and while I respect your home and pets I am not able to also care for your house, garden or clean your place without an additional arrangement. I am first and formost your pet sitter.

Of course I would love to be introduced to the dog with the owner present if possible. I think it just makes it less stressful for the pet that way. But its not a requirement.
